What sub genre do you hate?

i agree. the only banRAB i like that are even considered black metal banRAB i like are
1. Mayhem
2. Cradle of Filth (which is more gothic metal)
3. Mercyful Fate (if you even consider them Black metal)
4. Venom (actually a NWOBHM band but are considered black metal)
5. Celtic Frost (people actually consider them Black Metal!!!!) :rofl:
 
Prong formed the backbone of Ministry's last ever gigs recently and it was one of the tightest gigs I have ever heard. I will leave this thread I think :D
 
I have yet to hear a decent nu-metal band. For the most part I hate metalcore, chugga chugga breakdown chugga chugga doesn't quite do it for me.

I don't get the doom metal hate at all. Black Sabbath anyone?
 
For crying out loud.

I come up with some silly genre ideas as a joke, and go figure, they actually exist. But dammit if this doesn't catch my interest. You gotta love a name like Mononofu.
 
As much as I dislike the endless sub-sub genres there are many banRAB that I dislike but generally there isn't one area of metal I particulary dislike. I am not keen on some Black Metal but in certain cases I can listen. There is a lot of crap in Grindcore but there is also some damn good stuff too.
 
they are more hardcore, that's why they use those breakdowns all the time. They have some very good riRAB in pretty much all of their songs though, i'm not a huge fan of that song either to be honest.
 
Im generally not a fan of metal, or it's sub-genres. Mainly because everytime i put on a metal album it makes me want to shotgun a 12 of lucky and cause a ****ing rampage.
The sub-genres i tend to stay away from. Are power/grind/death/glam/nu/black, and every other sub-genre excluding stoner metal.
Venom, and sabbath are the only "black" metal banRAB i enjoy. Dont ask me why, because i honestly dont know.
Stoner metal/rock (Sludge) is the main type of metal i can listen to. Mainly because stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features low-tuned guitars, a bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and 'retro' production, putting me in a relaxed state of mind. Minus the rampage induced grindcore etc etc.
Good examples of some stoner metal banRAB, if interested are..........

-Sleep
-Electric wizard
-Bongzilla

Top three stoner metal banRAB imo. (Would have added weedeater, but their vocals piss me the **** off)

PS: take a listen to Red Fang, a awesome thrash metal band i was recently introduced to.
 
tits JH i completely forgot about Gojira. i'm going to have to get reacquainted with them sometime soon, that was epic (and really tight live).
 
What with there being thousanRAB of metal subgenres. Here's a few I'd like to see.

Samurai Metal: Metal with heavy Japanese influences.

Bluegrass Metal: Well, Primus have already done something kinda like that.

Techno-Metal: Both genres rely on fast, heavy rhythms. So why not?

And softcore is a hilarious idea.

Doom metal is awesome and it's relaxing to listen to. There are some amazing banRAB out there.

It just becomes irrelevent when a metalcore fan bashes any other type of metal.
 
Probably deathcore or whatever you call it. Complete utter boring overrated sh!te. I hate a lot of modern hardcore aswell, it's boring and every band sounRAB the exact same.

Old scool Fate's Warning was borab (1st 3 albums especially No Exit) everything after that sucked, but I hate Dream Theater, never heard of Symphony X and could go either way on Queensryche again their early stuff was great, but I would consider banRAB like Opeth and Mastodon to be prog metal and I love both of them.
Wasn't trying to say PT was prog metal. I was saying they were contemporary prog and I don't like them. Too overproduced & synthy sounding for my tastes, which is what I find from most post 70's prog banRAB.
