What Sonic cartoon did you like?

And Underground. Plus, in the OVA, he lived on Planet Freedom.

Though, on the subject of Sonic's planet in Sonic X, while it never was given a proper name, the hints dropped towards the end of the first series (1-52) did make it sound like his planet might be called Earth as well (since there's the whole explaination of Chris' world and Sonic's world originally being one and the same).

I still say Sonic SatAM & OVA are the only Sonic shows that has a somewhat ok plot.

The adventure of Sonic the hedgehog was way to cartoonny. Sonic Underground was way to off track of the Sonic games (Though, my little love the show to death.) And Sonic X...

Look, the animation & music were great. I love how they even added parts in the show like SA1, SA2, and parts in Sonic:Battle. But..But, the show could have been great if they left the human characters “OUT” in the series! I mean, what was the point?! And Dr.Eggman having robots side-kicks?! No! It was a great idea but sadly it didn't work.

I'll stick with SatAM & the OVA.

Oddly enough, from what I hear, the name of "Sonic's world" actually came from a one-off comment by Yuji Naka in a game magazine that could easily have been mistranslated. Something about new "Mobius Worlds" or something.

Both The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM. I'd say I enjoy the former more though as it's a lot more fun and it has a hilarious Robotnik. In a way, I sort of have a love-hate thing for SatAM. It can be enjoyable and a good substitute if you had enough fix with Batman TAS, the 90's X-Men cartoon and Gargoyles, but it does tend to take itself way too seriously and it's fanbase overrates the heck out of it. The show's Robotnik is pretty cool though, where as AoStH's was silly and hilarious, this show's was a nasty, feindish villain.

As bad as both Sonic Underground and Sonic X are, I'd take Underground over X any day. Underground was dumb but I found it to be more enjoyable than Sonic X and despite introducing Sonic's utterly pointless siblings it tends to focus on Sonic, not on some little Ash Ketchum wannabe.

Can't say much about the OVA, but from what I've seen the animation is pretty meh.

AOSTH is the only Sonic cartoon I've watched in full. Not to mention that I loved Sonic being Bugs Bunny-esque!

(And I had no idea Sonic was voiced by Urkel. That just makes me an even bigger fan...:))

I say what we really need is for Archie & Sega to team up & Do a Series of DTV's & Get Jallel White back as the voice of Sonic, that would make me Truly happy, why SEGA/4kids havn't triedto get White in the past is beyond me, I mean Griffith is fine but I still hear jallel's voice whenever im reading a sonic comic, Griffith would make a good scourge though.

I also would like to see a sonic cartoon that treats Knux with more respect, but somthing tales me thats not likely to happen.

Even though it seemed like nothing more than a cheap rip-off of Looney Toons, I enjoyed The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Though, I pretty much forgot all about it until Youtube Poop came along. I rewatched a few episodes recently, and still laughed at how brilliantly stupid Dr. Robotnik's plans were. He was kind of like an early version of Dr. Drakken from Kim Possilbe to me.

I was also really fond of Sonic SatAM. I know it's one of the most overpraised cult classics, but I liked the darker and edgier feel to it. Plus, it really showed Sonic in a whole new light. Back then, Sonic games were colorful and cartoony, so it wasn't really normal to see such a dark theme.

I at least want a DTV that wraps up SatAM. And while I never really cared for White, I hear him when reading the old comics. With new comics however I hear Ryan Drummond :). And though I don't hate the 4Kids cast as much as I could, did you ever notice that around the time the games got worse, it was when the 4Kids cast joined? But yeah Jason would make a good Scourge, as long as Ryan was Sonic. When the look changed so did the voices and Jaleel doesn't seem to fit the new Sonic.

meh, I think Satam got good enough of a wrap-up sally & sonic got together, Robotnik was defeated & mobious was free.

Yea I know they'd planned a seson 3 wich would be sonic & co fighting the forces of Naugus & Snivly, but as we all know sadly never came to be.

If they made a Satam DTV after all these years they'd probably change the eyes in the dark at the end of satam from Naugus to Metal sonic & just have it be Snivly & Metal in a last ditch attempt to revive the eggman empire.

I'd more like to see a DTV for the Sonic Rush series or one based on one of the more popular comic stories like Endgame or Enerjak reborn.

Also I'd forgot all about Drummond, he was good as sonic.

& as for 4kids i don't think they ruined sonic they just made sega put less into the games..LULZ.

Also does anyone else think sega purposly makes bad sonic games for consels out of smite of not having there own anymore.:radda:

Could be! Some consider Sonic Heroes the beginning of the end what with all the unnecessary characters and it was the first multi-platform Sonic game, but new characters had always been introduced. The sad thing is it seems like they're trying, so they're must be good at this or they just don't have it anymore.

Also I think they should've continued that "Man of the Year" short from Sonic Jam. It had some of the best animation for Sonic and they said "To Be Continued". Don't lie to me SEGA!

Absolutely loved Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) as a kid, mostly because of the great action and characters. Looking back more recently thanks to the series DVD release, my opinion dimmed somewhat. But I still consider it the best of the Sonic shows.

I've always considered Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog as the show I didn't mind having around back when it was on, but never found anything special about it. Could be funny at times (arguably too cheesy others), but had its moments. Should really think about picking up the DVD releases to see how it's held up... did they ever end up putting all 66 episodes out on DVD?

Never saw Sonic Underground because it was always on too late in the morning in my area, but the bad things I've heard about the show have over the years kept me from seriously seeking episodes out. The biggest thing... to this day, I still couldn't wrap my head around the decision to have Jaleel White voice all three hedgehog siblings, including the sister! Oy...

Sonic the Movie... singlehandedly made Knuckles uncool to me 'til Sonic X came along. Then again, pretty much everything about the movie made the entire franchise uncool. The acting, the plot, the president's daughter... ugh, don't get me started on her! Maybe I'm lucky my VHS of the movie is buried in some closet somewhere in my house.

Sonic X screamed wasted potential to me. First two seasons adapted the first two Sonic Adventure games loosely. They did a decent job, but something about the show still seemed off. Or someone. Chris Thorndyke. Okay, maybe I didn't hate him as much as a lot of people did, but I didn't exactly like him, either. Was kinda there, needed to be saved every so often. I actually appreciated him growing up for Season 3, which made him likable (and by consequence, a whole lot less useless). Season 3's storyline was great, in theory, but once again, the execution left a good bit to be desired. How much 4Kids and their editing of the series affected the series is debatable, but for whatever reason, I could never fully get behind Sonic X at any point in the series' run.

Personally, I hope that if SEGA ever does another Sonic animated series, they follow a similar model to Sonic X. Keep all the things that worked, and change or remove those that didn't. Sadly, given the last few major Sonic games and their quality over the years, I'm not sure my childhood love for Sonic the Hedgehog could stand another mediocre (or worse) animated series.

For alot of people, nostalgia and overhype can ruin a show, or at least make you wonder why you watched it. I find though that if you watch things with a grain of salt, not expecting anything, the show is good, even if your tastes matured. I watched a bit of SatAM the other day not expecting to be wowed like when I was a kid, and I feel the series held the test of time. It beats some shows of today, and is on par with others, and of course it doesn't hold a candle yet others, but it's still good.

Also I liked Sally's vest...I was a prude as a kid, felt she was too naked otherwise.

So far Shout! Factory only released 2 volumes containing 44 epidodes with no news yet on vol. 3, but many think it's because they're busy this year with G.I. Joe and Transformers.

And the Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 were both adapted in season 2.
