...and american? I have to write a compare and contrast essay about two countries, let's say russian and american culture, do you think it is ok to write one body that russians and americans like to have fun, and let's say eat a lot, and stuff like this. I am confused I don't know what to find for the culture because i don't see any kind of similarities between my countries and american culture. What do you think should I write?

Try writing about their beliefs and attitudes towards things. How do they each treat their food? In some cultures food helps with socialization and business and must be eaten with others, while in America people often eat by themselves and out at a fast food restaurant. How do the 2 cultures have fun? In America, sports and dancing are popular while in Korea singing and drinking are popular. Give many examples and references. How about discussing family structure and naming, or caring for children or the elderly (or animals)? There are many topics you can talk about. Architecture, education systems and beliefs........ Compare the lives of children/women/men in different countries

You should write about:

Views of religion of the two different cultures
The difference between the family unit --> How they treat each other
Differences regarding sex equality
Differences regarding health (recently western countries have become very health conscious with bans against smoking and emphasis on weight loss)

Find a culture that interests you. When you find that country of interest, do research. LOTS of research. What makes that country different from America? In what ways are they similar?

As for different subject to compare and contrast the countries to, I recommend

Manners/customs. It's really interesting to see what's acceptable in one country and how it could not be proper in another.

Holidays/celebrations. What holidays to countries share? Do they have their different takes on that country? Different traditions? What holidays are different?

A few other interesting ideas would be on family life, or different daily chores, religions, political views, or jobs. :)
Hope that helps!
