what should i do with my car audio system?

i am all new to car audio systems and i am looking to upgrade...i have a 2001 honda accord.

should i upgrade stock speakers and buy new ones preferably pioneer speakers?
or should i add an amplifier...i know an amp makes it louder but how big is it and where does it go?

again i am new to this and i prob sound stupid but thanks anyway

Start with good speakers. If you have lousy speakers then adding an amplifier will just make the speakers sound worse.
