What should I do Volume II

I did not mean that you would raise hell and you are 100% correct that this would not happen in aviation but I somehow have the feeling that bike mechanics don't get the same training and probably don't expect somebody to fall out of the sky but at the end the job should be done right, plane or bike should not matter.

Hey Shift-Tech, remember I am volunteering my services to test that vented exhaust heat shield that would fit the stock 1098 pipes. Honestly you must realize it would sell. We can even label it as the Enzo line from Shift-Tech.

Not to keep beating a dead horse. But I think your experiance has different meaning's to different people.. Not having the capacity to reset the computer is what red flags me..

When they did my initial service it was taking them a lot longer than expected so one of the techs comes out and tells me that they are trying to figure out how to reset the service light. Two hours later they tell me that they need a cable and that I will have to return. Yes they are a new dealer! Hopefully they get all of the bugs cleared out , although I honestly do not believe that I will allow them to touch my bike again. I believe I said it earlier a month had passed and still no call about my service light. Finally I go back and they tell me they got the cable but now had to wait for some downloads from Ducati before they can turn off my indicator. (I think that was BS) So I tell them if they don't get it figured out soon that I will be calling DNA, three days later they call me and say that they are now able to turn the light off. Then the oil leak through the filter, and fourtunately I was at a dealership in Daytona Arlen Ness, Good people, they fixed the leak and reset the service indicator for me.

Honestly why bother with the dealer that did the first oil change. The best thing todo is just not give them any more service or buy anything from them any more. Tell other Ducati owners about the dealer and move on. Daytona Ducati is a good dealer also their service costs are fair, I will have my 12k done there for 550.00 with new belts. Good thing it was not somthing major happend, but if a machanic at the dealer can't even make sure the oil filter is tight makes me wonder how well will they perferm the vavle check. Nice meeting you and it was a good ride, looking forward to next week, just need to figure out how not to sit in traffic and avoid the highway.

I'm leaning in that direction although I have always felt a sense of responsibility to address such issues not necessarily for retribution but rather to fix the problem or attempt to fix the problem, so that others don't end up with similar issues. Most likely my issue was purely chance maybe the guy who changed my oil simply made a mistake as we all have. But in the back of your mind it makes you wonder what else might they have missed. Unfortunately I've got one of those what if kind of mentalities, I tend to over think things. I think what I'll do is simply go up there and find out exactly who worked on my bike pull him aside and politely let him know that he made a mistake that could have been very costly and move on.
