Hi I have just been browsing through the Christmas Radio Times and have decided to start a thread for any movies that are on over the Xmas period on TV that you may like to recommend to others. I've chosen one movie from terrestrial and one from digital/cable/freeview.
There are some real little gems tucked away in the TV schedules this year including:

City of God, Wednesday 27th Dec Channel 4 11.05pm
Absolutely mind blowing movie about the gang culture amongst the youth of 1970s Rio De Janeiro, based on true accounts.

Grizzly Man, Discovery Channel, Sat 23 Dec 3pm, 24 Dec 11pm, 27 Dec 9am, 28 Dec 2pm and 30 Dec 3.50am.
One of the best documentaries of 2005, the true story of a dropout who dedicated the last 13 years of his life to living among grizzly bears in the Alaskan wilderness. This was only shown at the cinema earlier this year and was widely acclaimed by critics.

As you can tell from my choices, Santa Claus and fake snow are entirely optional :D :D

1 thing i do know is BBC1 for the second year running isn't showing Scrooged with Bill Murray. It's such a funny movie.

Apart from Dad's Army and Casablanca there doesn't seem to be any war films on.

Doesn't feel like Christmas unless there are dozens of Nazis being slaughtered. :D

Gremlins is on Sat 23 Dec on Channel 4 at 4.05pm and Gremlins 2 is on the day after on the same channel at 2.40pm.

For any horror fans, Wolf Creek is on Film4 next Sat at 11.30pm. Haven't seen it as I have heard it is gruesome, but I may well record it and attempt to watch it out of moribid curiosity...I am such a COWARD :o

Yes agree, Plus You Me and Dupree is out along with the two mentioned on Boxing Day. With any luck they might be out on the shelves on Saturday ( although the release date is Boxing Day) then you can rent them for the three days!

Down With Love and Van Helsing.

Although I was very disappointed by the films this year because I've seen most of them which is weird cos I haven't seen many films.

BBC1 Is showing Highschool The Musical, Could be quite good as Disney Channel keep advertising it and they are plugging the Soundtrack all the time to buy in the shops. Good one BBC at least we can see it before buying it because a lot of Disney movies as of late are becoming so repetitive.
