What movies are you really looking forward to seeing on TV this Xmas?

The film line-up is very disappointing but that now seems to be the case every year. I mean, how many times do ITV feel they have to screen the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future films on both ITV1 and ITV2.

There's usually a chance to see some good lesser known films in late night seasons but what are BBC2 giving us this year? The Falcon detective series from the 1930s. Good grief!

For me, the only highlight is the very last film in the xmas double issues, Roger Corman's "Tomb of Ligeia", an atmospheric horror from the 1960s which I've been waiting to come on TV for ages.

Other than that, the only xmas tv highlight seems to be the swap shop retrospective. Shame channel five have dropped their boxing day seventies comedy evening as well.

My 4 year old is very much looking forward to watching Thunderpants  :D He has a giggling fit every time I mention the title...! I think I will be getting through a few glasses of Baileys If I have to watch that one with him.... ;)

What happened to BBC2 showing Kill Bill Vol 1? That was officially announced as one of their Xmas films but is nowhere to be seen in the schedules. maybe considered too violent for showing over the festive season!

Just got Jackas* 2, Snakes on a plane, lady in the water, black christmas remake and the new wicker man and will be sitting down to watch those!!!!

Ah yes, City of God and Grizzly Man, certain to fill one with a warm feeling of Christmassy goodness. Especially Grizzly Man with all those cute furry teddy bears like Mr Chocolate and Aunt Matilda who just want to skip and dance and sing with ol' Timothy. Perfect for the kiRAB. Except the bit where the bear eats him.

I'm sure I read in one of the christmas TV mags that "THE 2 RONNIES" is on ITV3 or ITV4 christmas day, Might be the wrong day but I know i read they are definitely on at christmas.

Hope this makes your christmas come true at least for an hour lol. ;)

OK, ok point taken... :o but in my defence I never said they had to be Christmas movies, merely great films that just happened to be on over Xmas :p

If I wanted a warm feeling of Christmassy goodness whilst watching them then I'll just pour myself a huge glass of Baileys ta very much!

Oh yes I was just bein silly :D They are two great films which everyone should see. Personally I'd rather watch either of them than, say, Its a Wonderful Life, which makes me want to puke, but thats just me. Pity there wasn't a bear around to maul Jimmy Stewart.
