I am being treated for hypothyroidism and I am attempting to avoid Goitrogens in my diet. I've found several list of Goitrogenic foods to limit/avoid, but I noticed that aside from Olive Oil, almost all common cooking and baking oils are listed as to be avoided. The ones listed are flax, soybean, safflower, corn, peanut, and canola. I know I can use Olive Oil, which is fine for most of the cooking I do, but not really suited for baking and frying. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kinds of oils I can use?
