Direct Answer...

It is not the capacitor.... It is the wiring connection.

Capacitors are just voltage stabilizer... even if you see the display go down to zero, everything should be working ok. even without capacitor.

there might be something wrong with the connection..

also try this.

remove the capacitor..

then play loud

if subs still stops and amp is still green (not on protect mode)

somethings wrong with the power supply...

Wiring, Battery.

capacitor just indicate the voltage and tries to stabilize it somehow.. but not responsible for the power supply of the system.

ayt? trust me.

i gopt a 2.0 farad capacitor a few weeks ago and just today i was listening to music and my subs just shut off and stopped playing so i thought i blew them but then i noticed the amp wasnt in protection mode and saw my capacitor dropped down to 7.2 volts. so i turned it all the way down and watched the voltage go up slowly back to 13.8 volts. so i turned my stereo back up and it played for about 6-7 seconds and when the bass hit the voltage dropped right back down for 7. somethin volts then i turned it all the way back down again till it went back to 13.8 volts..so i turned it up again and after a few seconds it did the same thing.. so i turned it all the way down and let it go back to 13.8 volts and i let it sit there for a few mins this time and then turned the stereo back up and now it works fine again and doesnt drop all the way to 7 volts

what happened?
ive had the system for about 4-5months and its been wired the exact same the whole time and havnt had a single problem (btw the light on the amp is blue :P) and ive had the cap for about 2 weeks or so now and its wired correctly and charged properly..didnt have a problem with it till 45mins ago when this happened
