What is the future of car audio and customization with the economy the way it is?

I've always had a passion for it, and am toying with the idea of pursuing a career but can't help but wonder where this field is headed.

I agree, it will slow, but kids will continue to want serious sound in their vehicles, even when the kids are 30 yo.

its always going to b here it may slow down a bit but will not die as long as there are chicks there will b big speakers to blow their hair around
