I'm working with the following pieces: The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol, Dreams From My Father by Barack Obama, In a Time of Violence by Eavan Boland, and the movie Wings of Desire. All of them tend to touch on identity and culture. The writers found themselves after struggles with finding their cultures and what they mean. However, I don't think that is a specific enough topic for a thesis, and could use some ideas on what question to raise.
