I've been using those little bottles of Bella Sera pinot grigio for cooking, like for risotto. I've tasted it, it's very drinkable. And the best part is that you don't have to open a whole bottle just to get 1 cup. I don't use chardonnay since lately it's too 'buttery' in taste. I need crisp and clean tastes for a white. And I agree, chablis would work just as well.
