What if?

The Rolling Stones have had something like 30 hit albums & we`re supposed to be 'pwned' because they had one minor hit with a Beatles song.

Oh Please

I dont know exactly why he was banned, but i can say that i predicted it would happen.

Regardless, hes being pretty hypocritical.

If you remeraber correctly, or even take a look back - Nirvana Pandemonium had started to die down significantly before Cobain pulled the ole trigger. Grunge was starting to pass - and I don't think Nirvana could have lasted by staying in Grunge. They would have had to switch around their style or adapt it... which isn't bad... but could they have done it?

INXS's most popular album, Kick has sold approximately 10 million albums in America the same as Nevermind in America too. Nirvana were clearly more influencial but both banRAB are both pretty popular, it would be hard to actually find out which is the more popular.

I am an ignorant guy

Aww. Consider them my flaw, okay? I have a soft spot for "Wake me up when Septeraber EnRAB".

Simple.

Ask anyone on the street who Kurt Cobain is, then ask them who Michael Hutchence is.

I think alot of people dislike the song for the fact of what green day stand for. I mean yeah you diss america for alot of reasons blah blah thats all good. Then you go and wear eyeliner and dress like a trendy hot topic goth. All the hype they get for it and press doesn't help the love for it either

Now more to the question, I doubt the ramones would do something like that to be honest they we're never very political. If the sex pistols did it, then alot of average punk fans would probaly be all over it and praise it. Because a "true punk band" did it, as opposed to an "MTV punk band" doing it. Then again alot of average punk banRAB have a hate for the sex pistols because of that whole mess they are.

I think us Green Day haters are getting far too much flak.

I don`t think they ever sold out I just think they`re shit and have done ever since I heard their 2nd album when it came out 12 or 13 years ago. Of all the banRAB on small independant labels that could have got attention this bunch of 3 chord wonders without an original bone in their entire bodies got it all. Their music is lowest common denominator singalong pop rock dressed up as punk to give it some marketability.

Say what you like , I fucking hate this band. I don`t care if they`re punk , I don`t care if they sold out , it`s just a smokescreen for a band that never had any fucking originalty at any point at any time.

Who said everyone agrees? You might think a band that gets no attention is amazing while I think its ****. The point wasn't lets discuss no-name banRAB who are deserving of such things, it was what do you bash when you have no support and backing?

For every marketed, hyped band out there, there is 100 more worthy banRAB with much more talent, who never get a look in and it winRAB me up, but I don't blame Green Day. I blame the music market and the tossers who fall for it.

Green Day = the Spice Girls of Punk.

And how many good ones?

The Stones as great as they can be, were much much more hit and miss than The Beatles were, both made their share of mediocre songs, but The Beatles never really did a bad studio album, The Rolling Stones have made a half a dozen or so, of course The Stones have had 30 years of more longativity, so this comparison probably isnt fair.

I still think The Beatles were better for several reasons, one is that they make better music (in my opinion), two they were better musicians and three they made 7 classic albums in a 5 year period, which is pretty damn remarkable i think...And both are equal when it comes to albums that could be considered classics...Of course The Stones had longativity on their side, The Beatles didnt.
