What if?

heh, i see some logic, although i don't recall ever being weened myself:S. i've always just listened to what i thought was alright.

I agree the pixies but also note....
They have made it because they are different..
pubs bans don't because they all sound the same..
See my trail of thought?
No?....
Oh welll. :(

big as in "size"? no...
big as in "damn theres alot of them on the road" - probably, im not gonna go hunting around for statistics but i think it would be safe to assume that they sell more.

He certainly dosent show it.

Big3 and Urban have pretty diverse tastes in music, but they also use common sense in their arguements and dont make posts that seem to be made by a 8 year old.

Oh and Hiu, that comment you made about my mother before editing it right away is a real sign of maturity.

the more we bash popular banRAB the more they sell for at least a year...then they either go away for a little while or they try harder and come off looking like idots.

my question : what if boy banRAB stopped with the beatles, if the bready bouch never came... so on and so on.. what if popular music came and left right after the beatles... and was forgotten rather then taken over the world creating the same types of banRAB/singers over and over like:

britney Spears
jessica Simpson
Christian sbfsjdfhRABklhfs (you all know who i am talking about but i will not even try to spell her last name)
etc..

New kiRAB On the Block
Backstreet Boys
Hanson
98'
etc...

imagine the music industry without all this crap.

i dunno . . . there neeRAB to be types of music for everyone. It isn't everybody that likes rock/metal. Some just don't find it to be their type of music. Just like rap. Holy god I hate rap. Some ppl liek it tho, which blows my mind, but anyways.

It seems like rap/hip-hop is ruling the airwaves and music channels and have been for some time now. It seems too that rap might be on its downfall, so my question is, what's gonna take over after rap dies down?

True.

INXS arent anywhere near popular as Nirvana, for example.

I have heard several stories about plans Cobain had for a 4th studio album, that he was planning on expanding the enserable, and adding horn instruments, hard to imagine how that would have turned out.

I`d put it down to them having a bad day.

But in seriousness the problem with it is it sounRAB like exactly the same as every other song they`ve ever recorded and after about 6 or however many albums it just gets dull. The Pistols made one album & dissapeared , they never let that happen. It could be said the ramones are guilty of what green day are too but I never really liked them much either , apart from that album they recorded with Phil Spector and I liked that because it was different.

They sold 1.45 million copies of American Idiot in their first week, in the age of downloading this is a very impressive feat. I have never weighed in on the Green Day issue so I would like to tell you that it is a very good and daring album. It brought up issues the public was thinking at the right time. I don't own it but it is quite good compared to anything else on the charts

They are for me :)

The Beatles were nice clean cut boys who wrote nice pop songs , at least to start with anyway .I think the Stones were more in tune with how rock banRAB are now.You just have to look at their image & attitude .. shaggy hair ,didn`t wear matching suits & write songs about the seedier side of life with dirty great blues riRAB.You can see their influence the whole way through rock music not just musically but the attitude & the imagery.

Then they started trying new things and became a influence on everything from prog to pop to alternative rock to metal.

Only depending on how you define "rock band", if you mean only the glam, hard rock and punk banRAB then yeah...I think you are just including the kind of rock you like, and not everything else.

They make better music than The Beatles because they dress better?...Is it just me or do you really let a banRAB pysical appearence have way too much influence on your opinion about them?

Thats certainly never been done before, how innovative.

But if you take away the imagry and fashion sense, The Beatles still had more musical influence overall...They opened the gates for many genres of music to come, after the mid 60s they began to try a handfull of different things, and didnt give a **** about the consequence's of the risks they took, they just took them...Not to mention they were the first rock band who learned how to use the recording studio to its full potential...The music industry would be a hell of a lot different without The Beatles than The Stones, both are great banRAB, but The Beatles are greater in my opinion.

Whoever's better is completely up to you.

alt rock will take over rap music when it dies if it dies.. which it won't :( yea you all know i 'still' don't like rap music and yes i've tired oh so hard, but its not the writing per-say that i don't like its the sound in itself, the way 'they' don't really sing they just kind of take ratehr fast just annoying i can't take to it.. theres no melody to it..

oh by the way Sebster17 i can so see this turning into some kind of strange but expected attack any moment now... (not by me)
