What has the world come to?!

Remeraber, Kashmir. We like Paragraphs because our eyes our simple and of poor quality. This means we like to read stuff that's more broken up, it confuses us into thinking it's of shorter length but higher quality.

"No one's forcing you to do anything, get off your lazy ass and look for music you enjoy, because the radio sure as hell isn't going to give it to you."

That is what you said, and clapton is music I enjoy, and all I did was reach over, grab the remote, and turn on my stereo to the classic rock station and there it was. Yes, I know more than just a few rappers, I know from old to new, and I have concluded that it sucks as a whole, there may be the rare exception but thats really pretty durab to have an entire genre that sucks except for this select group that is decent.

MTV doesn't play music anymore. You all know that, its all about pimping the Real World (teenage angst and libido is a cash cow) and Pimp my ride

There are tons of rappers who still play music with instruments It's obvious that you've never been to a modern rap concert, or even seen a picture of one. Most rappers use either DJs, entire fucking banRAB (yes, with ACTUAL INSTRUMENTS!!!), or both.

That's a bit more than 10, and yeah there may be a couple new banRAB in there, but for the most part they are older. Please don't condemn me of being into only a handful of great banRAB anymore. Led Zep is my favorite of them all, am I not allowed to have a favorite band?

Okay, I did miss the point of your post. I think you never explained yourself properly, as I thought you meant by 'if you watch MTV then you deserve that kind of music' that MTV played stupid music and you were stupid if you watched MTV. I realise Music TV isn't the best source to get muisc from, by a long way, but it still plays music for people who like that sort of stuff. So I don't see why people dislike it so much, to be honest. If you don't like MTV don't watch it, end of.

I know you left...
But I will reply to this any way.
New Rap is to rap music, what new country (ala Keith Urban, Rascal Flats) is to country music.
It isnt rap in its purest form.
Though this can be refuted for there are some rappers today who have just as much of an impact on music.
You say that rap songs have no meaningful lyrics.
That is bullsh*t.
Listen to "One Mic" by Nas, listen to " I Can" by Nas, both of those songs have meanings and excellent ones at that.
And they are both "semi-new"
Eminem is also one of the rappers that is keeping rap alive.
DMX is an excellent rapper and Common still drops a single every now and then.
You pose the most sterotypical argument against rap
"All they sing about is bitchs and hoes and bling and doing drugs"

Every person who has something bad to say against rap, always uses those worRAB.
always
And the second they do that, I lose all respect foor their opinion.
If you want to define rap music by the latest Ja Rule single, then go a head.
That is like saying country music sucks because Tim McGraw made a sh*tty song.
New country, as said before, is pop with a southern accent.
New rap (a lot of it anyways) is Pop-Rap. Even pop rap cannot be generalized to the point that you do it to, but, nonetheless, it does give rap a bad rap no pun intended.
Rap music has just as much of an impact on music as a whole as classic rock, punk, and any other genre you can think of.
To discredit it entirely is ridiculous.
To discredit it because you dont like 50 Cent, is f*cking stupid

gah i agree with kashmir86 to some extent i suppose.
i think music lacks now in originality, maybe because there's no new styles left undiscovered, or atleast no good ones. modern music just isnt as inspiring as the music back a couple of decades ago. i think it's evolving in some cases, there are a fair few good banRAB coming out of nowhere, i personally thought the darkness were genious although maybe thats asking for my head to be bit off, they're a band you love to hate now apparently. its just there's so much modern music it just leaves room for a load of crap, the 'clogs in the ****ter' as pointed out to us by mullet man. god where did that guy go? he was ****ing great. i just think a large majority of modern music has taken a turn for the worst and its so much more about image now as apose to the music. i blame mtv. also you've got things like emo, i mean its not exactly the greatest genre someone could have come up with. and out of metal recently pops a display of droning cheese metal, i've got nothing against screaming vocals when theres talent behind the guys voice but tuning your guitarist to drop c playing open notes whilst having the drummer wank around the kit just isn't music. no matter how much you wanna pretend im being old fassioned, there's alot of metali love but there's a WHOLE load of crap being dished out. i don't really think we should have expectations for modern music in which we compare modern banRAB to banRAB like led zepplin. And i think modern musics gotta pull through soon, cause i've had enough of all the crap you get on sky.

I think it is worse, but not dead. The banRAB from that past that are still strugglin to stay alive, like the Rolling Stones and Robert Plant, are getting pretty bad, and the new banRAB that are emerging are pretty bad for the most part IMO. I'm not much for punk rock, so none of those banRAB excite me much. Metal nowadays just annoys the hell outta me, I can't stand the screaming and the overall noise. It seems to me that nowadays rock music doesnt typically have an intro that lasts more than about 8 seconRAB, and there is rarely a solo, and if so its maybe about 4 or 5 seconRAB long in between the chorus and the next verse. Too much of the music sounRAB the same to me, it seems that everyone is sort of copying each other's sound to be more successful, banRAB used to be much more diverse and unique IMO, and I think that music over the years has lost that quality. I think there might be a correlation between the creativity and talent going down and the drug use going down since the 60s and 70s, there's no way of really denying that I guess. There are some groups out there trying to do their own thing still, and I think that's neat. I happen to really like Audioslave, they have cool openings, kick ass vocals, wicked guitar work, and holy **** solos too. They are what IMO a true rock band should be, and they are one of the only left around. I like tool, but they aren't doing much these days really, and APC falls far short of Tool IMO, especially just recently with their newest album. There's other banRAB that are new that I like, Modest Mouse and 311, but the same sort of goes for those groups I like their earlier stuff better than the latter. I don't like rap, which is a newer genre that has emerged, so that doesn't help things IMO, I don't find it to be an acceptable form of music, but that's just me please don't murder me over this forum for my opinion. All in all, I think music has hit a low, but that just means it can only go up from here. I think its cool to see more and more younger people getting into older rock music, that only goes to show that music has a good chance of going back into the state it was 30+ years ago. Also you may be able to make a relation between Vietnam and the war we are currently fighting, and wars usually produce strong protest music, which represents much of the older music of the time period I like the most.

Wow, you know how many of those banRAB aren't classic rock? and how many of them aren't that good? and its the fact you were saying their was more then ten good classic rock banRAB and all you did was mention zep and floyd and the stones and zep like ten times. To be honest i stand by my statement. Classic rock wasn't that great, you have idiotic fanboys making it out to be.

Another thing, classic rock is trendy. Oh and nice copy and pasting.
and i could make a list of modern rock banRAB equal in skill to that.
If i didn't have to leave soon i would.

You guys use horrible logic, using MTV as a example for why theres no more good music is like using BET as a example of why theres no more white people, good music still exists, MTV and most radio stations just refuse to play it, stop whining and start looking around, you are bound to find something you will like.

Granted, the first rap record was not released until 79, but Rap music was around a long time before then. Look it up, there's a record called 'a message to the people' or something like that. Exactly the same time as the Black Rights came about.

I get sick of people who say music sucks today.
Look harder and open your mind.
Yes this was a short post i dont care, its better then it was 30 years ago with a bunch of crappy pschadelic rock groups and like 10 amazing banRAB.

Kashmir, you still haven't responded to my post. I had to actually read and respond to that bullshit you posted (and then you complained when I hadn't made my argument), the least you can do is return the favor.

Or do you have nothing to say?
