what gauge subwoofer wire should i use?

i have a pair of new power jensen subwoofers 1200 watt and a new 400 watt 2 channel jensen amp and a scosche 1200 watt amp wiring kit, i was wanting to know what would be the right gauge wire for my subwoofers?
 
You can wire it up with normal door speaker wire. On my subs I have 14 gauge going from the amp to the box, and from the box to the subs.
 
From the amplifier to the subwoofers yes the previous answer is correct... 14-16 guage is fine 16 being what i have on my subs the amp wiring kit should honestly come with 16 guage wire for the subwoofers.
