what does it mean - "to mingle around"?

also: combine, blend, mix.....

To mingle around, in say the context of a room full of people, would be to combine into the crowd and the various groups or social hubs and blend in with the "vibe" of the conversation/s in a like spirit whilst maintaining individuality. Socializing and/or network-working.. (Never missing the right opportunity especially when the source is also right...!)

Not much--it's redundant. "Mingle" is enough; use a dictionary. To "mingle" is to circulate freely among others.
