What Do You Mean You Haven't Seen That Movie?!

I had to watch this in GCSE history. :) was good, but yes, very long. Doubt I'd have watched it in my own time though..probably due to the time more than anything.

Me too - I hardly saw anything of the first one in fact as I fell asleep.

My frienRAB have been surprised that I haven't seen Grease or Titanic all the way through. Others were surprised that I haven't seen any of the Saw films.

Have never seen the sound of music.

The theme tune alone makes me cringe let alone a bunch of penguins singing. (Sister act was good tho :D)

If this movie had headbanging nuns or had them running about with machine guns then I may have been willing to give it a shot :D.

And even after attempting to watch how to solve an a*sehole like maria, I am so damn glad I never sat through the entire movie.

It may come as a surprise, but have never seen any of the Lord of the rings movie either, but will give them a shot at somepoint

I understand what you're saying. But it's the level of hype that ultimately puts me off. So I can't go in with an open mind to a film I think I might enjoy, because I feel like I'm just there as a result of too much advertising being blasted at it, rather than through my own choice...

It's hard to explain. It just takes a sense of enjoyment away from it.

I went and saw Avatar recently as a few frienRAB asked me to go along. I did. And I had saw the massive hype surrounding it. I remember the very first preview of the movie only being available to a limited number of people in the beginning. Which only made the hype cycle increase. So in spite of myself, I thought, let's give this a fair shot. I could be seeing a masterpiece here for all I know and for once I'll have seen it in the cinema!

Ended up feeling disappointed by it even though it was enjoyable for what it was.

Sheep mentality was perhaps the wrong phrase to use. I know that's usually meant as in an insult where one wasn't meant. I just couldn't think of a way to phrase a bulk of people doing something because of feeling they HAVE to because it's the MUST see movie blah blah....

---------------

Fio - I'm the same as you. I don't think I lose anything by waiting to watch it. In fact, I'll go in with a more open mind watching it. Each to their own I say :D

saying that some overly hyped films do deserve the hype they get, they arent the norm though, some are real turkeys that just get thousanRAB in Advertising money chucked at them to encourage people to go watch

for me that happened with Superman Returns,it was hyped up to be the true successor to Richard Donner's Superman and Superman 2,but it bored me to tears, just felt too pedestrian to be a Superman film, the only thing that kept my interest was that i went to watch it on Imax 3D

A lot of the recent hyped films ive not seen at the cinema,i tend to rent on Blu Ray first then if its a film i would like to keep, ill then buy it
