What do we do when we wake up some day and our culture is totally gone?

A good point and a difficult question. People come to rich western countries because they're rich western countries, with freedom from the government bugging you about what you like or who you worship, not to mention an astronomically high standard of living.
But if you impose sharia law on the whole country, it ceases to be a rich western country. Or if you vote for politicians who talk too much about the power of God or the of the government, then that will be problematic as well.

Funny because when Brits go abroad they expect English food and Beer etc but moan when people want to hold on to their own cultures.
The French are up in arms because many previously French villages and towns have been Englanded (new word, yay me!!)
I think it is natural 1st generation immigrants will hold on to cultures and traditions for 'the old country' but when they have children and their children have children etc they are probably pretty westernised.
