I am going to say what everyone else will probably say.
these trade speculations about allen and rondo are ridiculous.
the celtics chemistry is perfect when healthy and they have a really well balanced team. They decided to go over the salary cap when they made their move for allen, garnett and posy. They are just in the right position to make things work financially and winning wise and trading two of their five really key players to the way the team plays, especially for limited and aging players like hamilton, prince, and an underperforming stucky is ridiculous.
The team has three younger players getting into the middle of their careers that are developing nicely, rondo, who had a spectacular playoff showing, glen davis, who is second year but did 17ppg and 6 rpg in the playoffs filling in admirably for kevin garnett, and kendrick perkins, who supplied and omeka okafor like 12 and 12 throughout the playoffs as well as an underrated defensive presence.
These players are really teh teams future and trading rondo would really hurt the current teams chemistry as he often has the ball in his hands and is making decisions as well as the teams future as at least decent.
Ray allen is expensive but he played very well and consistently last season and is only signed up for one more year. That means that next offseason they can extend rondo for bigger money, and hopefully ray either agrees to a smaller package, which i believe he will at this point in his career, or he leaves, and rondo has matured enough to fill his role on the offensvie end.
These trade rumors and speculation really make no sense, the celtics have constantly made it clear that 1. they are willing to pay over the salary cap, 2. that rondo is always off limits in trades and is the future of the team, and 3. that winning is more important the quality financial position.
i really wish these rumors would stop, no truth to em,
hope i helped,
note: if this trade or any other involving rondo or allen happened i would be very surprised, id eat my hat.
rondo's so called character problems have been blown out of proportion, he is merely stubborn, and no way a couple of former pistons juggernauts fit into the system,.
their defense would be useful but offensively you have to run plays for rip off screens and prince and stuckey are unreliable shooters oftentimes, alot of risk to take to alleviate minor financiel pressure slightly, by looking at the size of the pistons overblown contracts.
I would like to say that the chemistry issue is again heavily overblown as rondo does play very well with the team. He just also becomes easily frustrated.
The trade is very good for a pistons team looking for youth and cap space to sign big names, but despite the improvement defensively in personell, i think it would really hurt the celtics chemistry and jeopardize their chances in the short term, as wel as mortgage their future by getting rid of the really talented rondo.
interesting trade, good for detroit especially, but as i stated, very unlikely
