what do u think of the current 'emo' culture?

i read an article in the daily mail and they call 'emo' a 'sinister cult' (big surprise) where parents are paranoid, self harming, only black, mcr gc and greenday blah blah blah...

are u concerned about us teens? are emos bothering u?
i mean the fact that now in many peoples minds rock= emo

personally greenday are not emo to me and neither are MCR just wanting ur opnions on the ammount of automatic labelling done by these people
 
since when were green day emo :S

i don't mind emos, but you get a lot of kids trying to attach themselves to that scene now which they really shouldn't until they actually understand what it is to be an emo.

it does annoy me though how people throw the term emo around as a negative thing, aimed at people who just listen to standard rock music :S
 
I think that theyre lame, posey and lacking in individuality
I mean what is with all the posey 'let me look up at the camera which is five feet above my head with a troubled & tormented expression through my overly large fringe' - its truly so very very lame and exactly like every other emo/scene's photo; theyre all so un-unique. Its like 'Everyone judges me because im different and I cant deal with that', when in fact theyre not different or individual at all. The reality is that they all look the same and no one gives a f*ck about them..
 
im not concerned about teens :L i do find emos kinda disturbing though. mainly because i dont get how someone could self harm themselfs, probably because i have 'low pain threshold' lol or i just overreact lol

neither groups are emo, just sing depressing music.
 
metalheads are way for fun, emos are just posers to me, there like a teen version of goths. i say goths are for the mature and emos are for the tenny bopers or adults that just dont want to grow up.
