hi all, i feel quite feminine in admitting i have a hyundia excel.
just got it, runs perfect... except its a tape deck (i would like a cd player with aux/ipod input) and the speakers are pretty standard.
now, i have NO idea about car audio... i have a mate who has no subwoofer, so when he puts his music up... its all tinny and sounds AWFUL... so i would prefer even a cheap value bass (i love my bass, but my car is too easy to break into to spend a lot on this system).
iv heard that Pioneer TS-G1641R 6.5-Inch Two-way Speakers are reasonable. but considering that i really dont know much about car audio, i cant say from experience which products i prefer. considering i dont want to spend HUNDREDS of dollars on the system coz A) i dont want it to be an attractive target to burglars and B) i dont think a huge system sitting in a hyundai exel is very fitting.
any help would be appreciated, more-so i would like to know what people think are a good buy or a cheap value bargain (i picked up some logitech z5500d speakers for $AU330, rather than the $AU850 rrp. and yes, i live in melbourne, Australia but im sure the brands in US/UK etc are here too.
By the way, i have a mate who works at clario who can get me their products cheap... but i know clarion are expensive and even at near cost... might still not be the best value option
i'd more like in detail what i need to buy to get it running. rather than just saying buy this bass... if possible, can you guys just say you need to buy this: _____, a good value one is ____, you also need this: ____ etc
and yeh, mum works at a car dealership... just kept an eye out for bargains regardless of the car. it had only done 90,000km and was awesomely priced... even if i dont necessarily feel proud driving it hahaha, so yeh... i sort of want to masculinize it. i got some new seat covers, some free pirelli tyres ($3000 tyres from mums work, hahah worth more than the car) and want a reasonable sound system.
