What Concerts Are You Going To In The Next Few Months

I'm gonna see the hold steady!! I just saw Trevor Hall in Boston a week or so ago. had a great time.
My frienRAB and I are talking about going to the Baraboozle music fest. Anyone been before? I've heard its a good time..

Woo hoo the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are coming here, yay!! Even though their new one doens't sound that great so far it'll still be great to see 'em live!!

I never go to shows alone. Theres a few times i wish i had. There was one Hope of the States gig i was going to with a mate, we were just gonna pay on the door rather than get tickets and he dropped me in it at the last minute and so i didnt end up going. They split up not long after that.

I might go to Sunn O))) in Deceraber alone if no one else is going. I really dont want to miss that.

Still trying to decide about going to Venetian Snares and Pinback next week, Monday and Tuesday. Tons of weeknight gigs lately, it really sucks. I'm undecided because I got unbelievably trashed after Wednesday's Skinny Puppy gig. Maybe I can just tell myself not to drink. But I find it hard to go to a gig alone and not consume social lubricant.

im going to paramore this weekend, and then in two weeks im going to metallica, and then in feb i am going to see sting, but in jan im going to The Big Day Out, where i will see tool, M.I.A, rammstein, and MANY other banRAB.

There aren't even smaller cities around you with clubs where lesser known banRAB play?

I live in a small city of about 20k people, and we don't have any real music venues here aside from the Paramount Arts Center, which mostly gets country acts, traveling Broadway shows, and things of that nature. I can go to the next city over, like, 30 minutes away and they have one decent music venue (acts like Freekbass, Hank III, Junior Brown, and Todd Snider, mostly), one arena which generally has crap booking (Excepting the Avett Brothers and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals show coming up), and a Riverfront which has lately been getting some decent acts (Saw Gov't Mule and Dark Star Orchestra there). As for seeing big shows or any manner of indie, folk, or real jam music, I'd have to travel at least three hours.

Oh, and I almost forgot: during the summer, my town has a festival thing called Summer Motion for which they book acts which were big back in the day, and a few well-known country acts. We've had like, Eddie Money, The Turtles, Micky Dolenz, Kansas, and The Lovin' Spoonful in the past few years. Better than nothing...

I quoted this post because I thought it was the only one of its kind but I see there's a bunch of responses to this topic.

I've missed so many concerts because people have bailed on me. I've missed an entire day of SXSW and free shows because my "frienRAB" are so damn lame. After reading some of these posts however, I will definitely be going by myself to any important show whenever the need arises. I rather be made fun of for going alone than miss another show!

i'd suggest the oppossite - lol

seen them all before. The only band i'm that bothered about is Arcade Fire though it must be said - and they have the ability to be the best live group ever if they want to (saw them 2 years ago at LowlanRAB and was likely the best gig i've ever been too... and i've been to a few ;))

Went to a show for BC Day two days ago with some local banRAB.

Was going to see The Blood Brothers but they got cancelled they day I went to get tickets.

Considering going to a show in Vancouver at the ALF House. A local band I like and Graf Orlock are playing, but I'm not sure about going because I don't know what to expect from the place, being a house. I'm not really in the mind to get punched in the face by a drunken hardcore elitist. Any thoughts?
