I just got my navel and tongue pierced. The shop I went to was nice, clean. I saw the man take out new gloves, a new, sterilized needle from the package and everything was sterile. However, he gave me no instruction afterwards. What can I clean it with(both navel & tongue) and what can I eat?(if anything)

I definitely wouldn't gargle with hydrogen peroxide as someone else suggested. Not only does it taste horrible but using it very often in that way could be dangerous and also ruin the enamel on your teeth.

To clean your tongue ring, gargle several times a day with a mixture of listerine (mouth wash) and water. A mix of about half and half. I carried around a bottle with it and swished and spit several times a day, and my tongue healed in no time.

You won't be able to eat anything very hard for at least a few days. After I got mine done (6 years ago) I pretty much lived off mashed potatoes and gravy, yogurt, and other soft foods.

Have fun chewing gum for the first time, lol, it took me a while to learn how to chew it again without getting the gum caught.

To clean, gurgle with hydrogen peroxide (there are instructions on the bottle to do this, you'll also get whiter teeth!) A classmate had her tongue done in high school, and I remember her eating a lot of popsicles, and I'm guessing pudding and Jello wouldn't be bad options, either. Anything soft, really.

I have a naval piercing, and I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide, but I guess this can cause it to heal too quickly. It worked for me, six years later I still have my piercing. I used to soak the ring in peroxide while I clean the hole with a cotton ball or swab soaked in hp.

Try calling the shop where you got it done, they could have just forgotten to give you their new piercing packet or something.
