What brand of car speakers are the best bang for the buck?

I have $250.00 for 4 new speakers for my car. Is JL audio any good, or Arc audio? I've heard brands like pioneer and alpine are good too.

I'm looking for speakers that don't need an amp to sound good but I will eventually get an amp and subs... thanks
 
Yes Pioneer... You can get your four speakers and have money left for a snack while you listen to your jams with some great sound. As for JL's prob cant get them for 250 Alpine also very good but more pricey then Pioneers.
 
I have kicker door speakers are pretty nice.. try the DS series they are about $80 a pair. Pioneer are really good too.
 
Pioneer Premiers, i believe its the 720D series....
PG RSDs (best budget speakers you can get for the price)
CDTs
The list goes on... but i wouldnt get anything from JL since they are highly overpriced
