What are the advantages do you see in being part of two cultures?

I am a black American.

I have the American popular culture and then I have the "black" popular culture.

Its pretty cool to go back and forth between the two.
 
I think a lot of Mexicans face this (problem). Some illegals might be here to be with friends and family that are here legally. That's like brothers being separated during the Civil War in the US.

Advantage - Knowing two cultures and being part of each makes a person more knowledgeable, more understanding, possibly bilingual, and understanding history from more than one point of view.
