I have an 02 Pontiac Aztek with AWD and I hear a clunking when shifting from park to D or R and vise versa. I have located the noise to the 2nd back half of what I only know as the driveshaft. I am wondering if there is a specific name for this piece.

I know what u joints sound/do when bad just thought being awd this is different bc it has cvjoints so i thought it was the driveshaft itself bad just didnt know what it was called
underneath my aztek i have the transfer/tranny case then extends out to a driveshaft which pieces into another driveshaft. its not the full driveshaft like what my truck has. so in theory it looks like 2 driveshafts. the rear one is where the "clunk" comes from when i put it into gear. I guess i didnt think that the aztek had u joints thought being awd it had something else. hope its not the driveshaft ill look tomorrow and see if it has u joints if so im sure thats the sound
