What are some ways I can educate myself without school? (SUMMER VACATION right now)?

-- I STILL plan on going to school, its just summer break and I've got nothing to do.
-- I'm going in eight grade and I'm tired of slacking off during the summer vacation! I think I could perform a lot better in school altogether if I took the time to review and learn more through the break, and probably through the school year. (But, I have stuff to do during the school year )
-- And I'm sure not going to depend on my school to pick me back on track after months of doing nothing. I'm not particularly faithful in the school system nowadays.
-- Problem is, I'm not that sure on how a teenager should self-educate oneself with the best (or at least okay) results. I really want to make the most of it, so I could take the best advantage of my education and go further in life. I usually head over to the library and have get work done there.
-- Any tips on how I could help myself? Like, I don't want to involve myself with a tutor, I have an relative who is a professor for that. I just mainly walk over the library and look over and progress on subjects I know and will know.
-Are there any ways YOU yourself have helped yourself? Any tips or little tricks that help? Any suggestions, ideas, or thoughts? Are any of you from different countries that approach studying differently? I just wanted to know. Thanks for any help offered! =)
 
Ive been reading books and reviewing my math skills. I recently joined a website called cosmeo for an online education for science,math, language arts, social studies, you name it, I think it costs money though.You've made good choices about going to the library. Ask them for some computer games for whatever you want to improve on.I' ve improved on myself by asking my parents to quiz me on a selected subject and telling me what I did wrong. Or reviewing what im best and worst at by myself. Don't push yourself too hard. Summer is a time to have fun, and stay sharp on your skills.
 
Study American History. You will need to know a lot about it here in the near future. Study the United States Constitution. Study the Founding Fathers. There is a lot to learn outside of the public education system.
