what amp for my p3 15?

i have a fosgate p3 15 inch sub - 4ohm and 1000 watt max. what kind of amp should i run to it and how many watts should i run?
how many channels should i get? mono block or what
 
look for the RMS wattage and find an amp with and RMS wattage listed that matches. the max setting means almost nothing the rms is the normal running power and that determines how much power it needs to run regularly. and btw if your on a site that doesn't list the RMS value then don't buy it there they don't know what they are doing
