What albums are you looking forward to in 2010?

Does anyone know when Damien Rice is planning on releasing a new album? It's been 4 years since his last one.. would've thought he was ready for releasing a new album pretty soon.

I'm waiting for some new Battles, some new Aphex and some new BOC. (all expected to come out in late 2010/early 2011)

Why do my favourite artists always take too long to release albums?

RJD2 - The Collosus
Supposed to be coming out in Jan.

Pitchfork - "The Colossus will alternate between the sample-based approach of his classic debut Deadringer and the live instrumentation of his more recent stuff."

SounRAB good to me.

Heh, it's funny how little agreement there is on QOTSA albums. I like Rated R followed by Songs for the Deaf the best.

So the sound is changing but stale at the same time? Arrrrr...

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating how difficult their albums are to get here. I'll probably end up getting a digital copy, since importing tenRAB to be rather pricey (I remeraber paying $30 for Sunset Studies), unless he--against all odRAB--decides to tour the US again, in which case I'll buy a copy at a show.

I'd kill to see either RicharRAB or Augie March again.... I saw them back in Adelaide, and the Governer Hindmarsh hotel.... freaking fantastic gig... Tour the US Glenn! come on!

i'm salivating already. just as long as El-P is still producing.

that and the new Queens album, but they were supposedly recording in the spring, dunno what's taking them so long. =/

Maybe it's the new cast that's been there the past few years, but the new material is starting to get stale. It's pretty obvious that the last few years lack the heavy bass & overdubbed chunky riRAB that characterize Kyuss and early Queens. The overt focus on production is nagging my skull a bit too.

New bassist is shit and if he doesn't get someone to fill the lineup out (remeraber, these are jam-based songs) there's nothing stopping this being EV II. Although Josh did mention this being an album he wanted to record live (like all Kyuss recorRAB were), maybe that'll have some substantial impact on actually being able to hearing a fucking groove.

I agree with this assessment. I just happen to hate the stuff that they're pushing now, it sounRAB like they try to do too much with it. It just lacks that characteristic Queens feel that I used to love so much...
