Weekly Music Trading Post

eh, i thought it was a good choice, seeing as a nuraber of their well known hits (Comfortably Nurab, Mother, Run Like Hell, etc.) are on it and someone who was say a casual listener to them on the radio would be able to recognize some of it.

Warren G - Regulate...G-Funk Era

I enjoyed this more than I was expecting to, G-Funk has never really been an area of hip hop I enjoyed that much, but the production is so irresistibly chilled, makes Long Beach sound like the most appealing place on Earth. So smooth and syrupy, and Warren's delivery is perfectly suited to the music.
Lyrically it's obviously not great, this is music you throw on at a party, not analyse. But I will say that Warren G and his buddies are much stronger than their modern counterparts like The Game.
In the end it's a smooth, fun record that is moves by fast enough that it can't outstay its welcome.

Arrested Development - 3 Years 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life of

When Rickenbacker sent me this album I told him I had never heard it before but imagine my surprise upon listening that it was one of my favorite albums from the 90's. The cassette might even still be floating around somewhere in my grandma's house.

I thought about letting him know and asking for another album. However, listening to it again after so many years felt like the first time and the album deserves being mentioned so here we are.

The theme was to send a happy album and this album definitely delivers. Arrested Development made a hip-hop album that just makes you feel good about being a person and at the same time makes you want to help other people. Every track is positive and upbeat and just puts you in a good mood. My favorite track has to be Mr. Wendell, a story about helping out a homeless man that always puts a smile on my face.

This is a great album that I'd recommend to everybody who likes hip-hop and everybody who's looking for an album that might help them appreciate hip-hop.

I get about 10 Pm's a day from this and that so forgive me if I happened to miss you once... I just browsed through my old received Pm's and I never got one from you as far as I can tell.

I have given you my spot.

Surell sent me Giant Panda's Electric Lazers last week and its definitely good stuff. Really chill, laid back beats. The rapping at times cane leave a bit to be desired but the production here it top notch, definitely something worth checking out.

How about something that is scary or unsettling...not necessarily specifically about supernatural stuff. I got plenty of that and this would be a cool trade.
