Weekly Music Trading Post

Thanks! SounRAB interesting. :thurab:

I was just looking through your last.fm profile (from the other thread) and we have quite a bit in common...I'll figure out what to send your way.

I wouldn't mind doing this, I've never done it before though, but I guess I can give it a go :o:

Edit: Just pair me up with an indie nerd, haha, jk

A little late here, but Nurabernine sent me:

Julee Cruise - Floating into the Night

216658950_96263e7286_o.jpg

Expectations were pretty high for this record, considering one of the tracks was featured in an episode of Twin Peaks, one of my favorite shows ever. Like David Lynch, Julee Cruise has developed a significant and devoted cult following, who praise her ethereal voice and downtempo vibe. Floating into the Night certainly delivers on both fronts. Cruise is a phantom on this record, spinning tales of sadness and melancholy written by none other than Lynch himself.

Despite the extreme sadness of Floating into the Night, Cruise herself sings with a sort of innocence not seen in this type of music. The record suffers from sameyness a little, but overall it is very well done.

7/10

Yeah, same here :D

Good to know it's not that terrible an idea. I guess we can go with it for the next one. We've got plenty of time of get all the reviews for this one done. So much time in fact I haven't even decided when I'll look to start the next one! Let's just say anytime next week at the very least for now.

Sorry about that, normally I review past weeks partners but I was super busy last night so I didn't even bother. If you want to switch then I can partner you up with Dreadnaught and I'll be partners with Stone BirRAB if that makes you happy.

C'mon Mr. Mod, have some responsibility! ;) Ha, I'm kidding. But seriously, whoever takes over this let me know 'cause I'd like to start trading, too.

I must, first off, admit my biases. I'm not Christian, and this is a Christian band, so the lyrics really aren't anything I can particularly relate to. That's alright though, I can get over it if the music is good. It's just that, after a listen... the music isn't bad, I wouldn't say, but it's not my kind of thing. I can see how people may enjoy it, but for me personally it's just a bit generic sounding and same-ish.

No offense though Stone BirRAB, we just in general don't seem to like much of the same music. Hopefully you enjoy what I gave you.

Also, unless there's someone else wanting to get involved in this, I'd be happy to trade with AwwSugar as well. I'll spend a PM now.
