Wealthiest cartoon characters?

See, that's a question there. Can we count tyrants and evil dictators? Like, Palpatine was mentioned before - technically, he owns the entire Star Wars Galaxy and everything in it, by virtue of being the emperor. He'd be worth more than anything anyone on Earth can imagine. But it's not literal money, so would it count?

Well it does say "wealthiest cartoon characters". I mean Scrooge is not collecting money for the sake of the money or the coins... it's their value that counts.

So yes Palp counts.

I disagree. The empire isn't Palpatine's personal wealth any more than Barack Obama owns all of the U.S. government's assets. If Palpatine is ever deposed he can't take it with him.

Palpatine and Obama are not nearly the same thing.
Obama is not treating you like slaves over there, now is he?

But your right in your post, in one way.. Palpatine as the emperor is not really a cartoon character. Chancellor Palpatine fits your post better:) and mine too, in the past:sad:.

So yeah, he is like Bush mixed with Obama. Traveling back in time, AND in space.

It's not about politics, it's just about the nature of the wealth. The wealth belongs to the government, and Palpatine controls it because of the nature of his office. It isn't his personally and if for some reason he was forced to leave the office he wouldn't get to keep it.

I think it depends on the genre and type of world but I would say where Xanatos lives is extremely telling. Two things come to mind, the Cloisters museum in NYC and the Bond movie Moonraker.

Yes, it was instrumental in his plans but... The Met barely had enough time to get the Cloisters building into the US before such exports were stopped. And here is a private individual doing the same in the early 1990s- logistics, permits and public opinion being bigger obstacles than before. It's the stuff of Bond villains, building them up as formidable threats. A French chateau just means the family's rich (and/or operating a tourist trap) but if it's in California...

Corinne: The Drax residence. Every stone brought from France. Cute, isn't it?
James Bond: Magnificent. Why didn't he buy the Eiffel Tower as well?
Corinne: He did, but the French government refused him an export permit.

We all know that Veronica Lodge is a stuck up rich brat, who insults Archie and calls Jughead "Needlenose." Cheryl Blossom is worse than Ronnie. They may be rivals, but they're both spoiled brats. Take the Wedding storyline, where Archie marries both Betty and Veronica (in two alternate universes,) and the recent Life with Archie comic. Mr. Lodge becomes a villain when Archie breaks his daughter's heart by marrying Betty. They said Money is the Root of all Evil wasn't kidding.

As for Gemini Stone, she's Sabrina's Veronica. An evil brat who wants her way, but she did change...for now in three episodes of Sabrina: TAS. She only appeared in the animated styled Sabrina comic, but never join the mainstream Archie Universe, or appeared in Secret Life.

Anyone remember Claire Brewster from Beetlejuice: TAS? Now that was a rich brat.

Changing now to The Slone Family from Daria. It was reveled that Daria's boyfriend belongs to a wealthy family in IIFY? Then broke up with him in the final episode

The thread is about how rich these characters are, not about what kind of people they are. Not all rich characters are evil; that's just an overused stereotype.

Also, Veronica Lodge, Gem Stone (can't stand the character but love the name) and Claire Brewster are all minors. Technically its' their parents' fortunes, they just live off them.
