Wealthiest cartoon characters?

Palpatine/Sidious..... the clone wars... it's a cartoon right?

I mean in the position Palp/Sid is having, it should make sense if he made himself some fortune.

I don't know how rich exactly they are but I would go with a couple Hanna Barbera characters:

Daphne Blake and her family from Scooby Doo who in various episodes have been portrayed as having a swimming pool that tuns into a dance floor, horse stables, one heck of a mansion, and in the pup named scooby doo days a pantry that could double for a supermarket, a subway system in her house, and those are just the ones I remember, I mean she's got to have a lot of other stuff too

Another one from hanna barbera(well they were comic book characters first but were turned into cartoon characters) were Alexandra and Alexander Cabot from Josie and the Pussycats, now I don't know if they ever mentioned they were rich but didn't Alexandra always act like she was a rich girl?

Not hanna barbera but I remember Gem Stone from Sabrina the Animated Series as well; of course my top two would have to be Scrooge McDuck and Mr. Burns

As noted above, another reason Scrooge should be #1 is that he's also incredibly miserly and cheap (living up to his name). Unlike the other wealthy types on this list, McDuck isn't rushing out to spend his hard-earned zillions on Batmobiles, giant islands off the coast, Kryptonite death rays, various world-domination schemes, diamond-encrusted baseballs and solid-gold bedposts, etc. Scrooge only spends when he absolutely has to, and usually if it makes him money somehow (or protects the money he has); thus, he lives extremely frugally vs. the Rich Family/Bruce Wayne/etc.

Combined with his constant focus on making money/starting new businesses (moreso than even Richie's parents or Bruce Wayne/Tony Stark/etc) and his constant treasure hunts, and I'd say he's earned being #1... :-p

Drake Mallard (Darkwing Duck)

Was he rich?

:^: Drake Mallard wasn't rich; he lived in an ordinary suburban house, and until the comic book series relaunch we didn't know what Drake's day job was. How he managed to afford the Thunderquack and the Quackcycle is anybody's guess.

Quoting the Tiny Toons theme song "Montana Max has money"

But I'd also go with Bruce Wayne, and so far everyone has already pointed out Scrooge and Mr. Burns.

Agreed. Scrooge isn't gonna part with one cent he's made unless he really, really has to. Although he does have his own 'Iron Man' in the form of Gizmoduck, but when you think about it, Fento is more like Peter Parker to Scrooge's J. Jonah Jameson. Mr. Burns would be a close second, though.

YMMV, but IMHO these are the richest in comics:
All net worths are estimated.

1. Most Excellent Superbat ($20 Trillion) He bought Japan. 'Nuff said.

2. Victor Von Doom ($15 Trillion) Owns his own country.

3. Scrooge McDuck ($2.8 Trillion) Has a frickin' money bin filled with gold coins!

4. Flintheart Glomgold ($2.79999 Trillion) Scrooge's biggest rival.

5. Richie Rich & The Rich Family ($1.95 Trillion) The world's richest kid.

6. (Tie) Lex Luthor & Bruce Wayne ($850 Billion) Lex because he's recently re-acquired Lexcorp. Bruce, because he's the gosh darn Batman. :p

8.T'Challa (Black Panther) ($100 Billion) This is before all Wakandan Vibranium became inert.

9. Adrian Veidt ($25 Billion) This man engineered a faux alien invasion to end the cold war. (maybe)

10.Reed Richards ($10 Billion) He has his fingers in a lot of pies, and it takes lots of money to do that.

**********************************************************

The Also Rans:
**********************************************************

1. Tony Stark ($6 Billion) Let's face it, the guy's had a rough time of it lately, what with Norman Osborn raiding Stark Enterprises while he was incapacitated.

2. Wilson Fisk ($3.8 Billion) He may have been imprisoned, but he's not called the Kingpin of Crime for nothing.

3. Charles Xavier ($2.3 Billion) Founder of the X-Men.

4. Norman Osborn ($1.5 Billion) Former Green Goblin and leader of H.A.M.M.E.R.

Any others, feel free to add.

There's actually a popular theory on TVTropes that Drake is actually Scrooge McDuck's illegitimate son who Scrooge set up with a trust fund. Nothing to support this in either show but man, wouldn't it be awesome?

Dr. Doom is richer than Scrooge McDuck? Boy, he sure isn't gonna take that well. :sad:I doubt the people who made this list are that familiar with Shere Hahn's 'Talespin' incarnation.

What are those estimates based on... cause i think some of the poeple you mentioned near the bottom seemed kind of low, considering some of them are owners of very successful companies

I have to say I don't think Reed is that rich. He only releases enough patents to fund his research and he's been wiped out several times. Reed could be that rich, but some of the things he could patent are too advanced and dangerous for him to release. Imagine the havoc people could cause if there was a home version of the time platform or the Negative Zone Portal. He doesn't need that much money, though, because he does all of his experiments and builds all of his equipment himself.

Also, there was a recent Marvel Knights Miniseries where the Fantastic Four lost their entire fortune and had to move into an apartment and get normal jobs. They waved this away in the regular comics by saying Reed had just released a few more patents, but it's doubtful he completely rebuilt everything. He's probably just a multi-millionaire.

Oh, and since she's been in cartoons, I think we can add Veronica Lodge to the list. She's probably not near the top, but the Lodges are fantastically wealthy and she would certainly make a Forbes 100 of cartoon characters.

Veronica Lodge is similar case to that of Richie Rich; yes, Veronica is rich, but it's her parents who have most of the money. Veronica herself just gets an allowance.

Well according to the new comic, S.H.U.S.H. paid D.W. a regular stipend. Then they got bought out by evil megacorp Quackwerks and Drake had to get an office job
