We Know The Beatles are Sh*t, So Tell Us Some Other Bands That Suck!

Edit it down - pick the best parts.

What's REALLY ridiculous is that I bother to discuss music with a person who obviously has a revisionist view of musical history.

The Beatles DID that - you don't have to LIKE it...but it actually happened.

They completely altered the lanRABcape of what popular music was at their time, and forever after them.

Period.

You can TRY to argue that, but since it actually HAPPENED, the only ridiculousness will probably be what you post in response.

To put Nickelback in with Styx, Boston and Journey is outrageous!!! Styx albums such as "The Grand Illusion" and "Pieces of Eight" are the stuff of rock legend!!! Boston`s debut album is possibly one of the great debut albums of the late 70`s period. Journey are another great band with outstanding albums, musicians and talent, none more so than Steve Perry`s voice and Neil Schon`s guitar. Admittedly Foreigner never had the talent of the previous three but still a decent band. To put these banRAB in with utter crap such as Nickelback is just shameful:usehead:

I`ve just noticed you`ve put the Zorabies in there as well!!! "Odessey and Oracle" is a must listen to album from the late 60`s with its sublime harmonies and jazzy feel.

Putting an image of Morrissey up there is an OTT contrast, we`re talking metal here and not flower power hippies:laughing:

Any band that is marketed like Slipknot with their image, is going to get a bad rap amongst people, who see the marketing without really listening to the music.

Theatrics have always been part of rock and the likes of Alice Cooper and The Tubes probably did it best IMO. More recently Marilyn Manson brought it back to the forefront, and Slipknot are just carrying on that tradition and with a decent metal sound. A sound that is a damn sight better than anything put out by Nickelback, Creed, Saliva, Staind and Linkin Park etc along with all the metalcore crap out there.

I said influential. I never said what they influenced was good, but they are certainly influential.

And besides, I love Blink-182. Problem, anyone?

Aerosmith,

I challenged myself to listen to a few of their songs on my ipod without calling them a bunch of ***gots aloud. It was awfully hard, but I managed. It repeated in my head. If their guitar was replaced with piano, they would go from 7/8 full of **** to absolutely full of ****.

I have completey unresolved mixed feelings on slipknot - while I kinda acknowledge that they're not 'tr00 metal' by any stretch of the imagination, and a lot of their music appeals to complete idiots, I can't quite bring myself to say that they're terrible because IMO they're just simply not. They're good musicians and awesome to see live...

... the kinda conclusion I've come to is that they're a joke, but a good one. Still doesn't help when the fanboys come-a-knockin'...

Looking on the net, Philadelphia seems to have a very rich musical heritage. The recent music scene there, seems to be dominated by electronic, R&B, hip-hop, reggae and classical music..........All in all a lot of musical diversity.
