was murder considered a crime in Aztec culture?

Murder - the taking of life without permission of the state - is a crime in all cultures. Sacrifice of people for a religious purpose is an entirely different matter: It's not illegal, nor is it murder, because it's done with permission of the state.

Here's a parallel: In the Bible, Abraham got ready and (almost) sacrificed his son, Isaac. Yet in Jewish culture, murder is a crime.

Murder was a crime but ritual murder using enemy combatants who were captured is not a crime but a form of worship to the Aztecs. Aside from this, my opinion about Aztec Culture is that it was very conservative for most Meso-American cultures

If it is part of their law to kill people then murder is not a crime. Only we can say that murder is a crime when the law prohibits murder.
