volvo wont play burned CDs?

our new 1999 volvo won't play burned CD's but will play like official band CD's. is there any way/speed i can burn it at that will play it?

there's also a selection of Audio CD, Mp3 CD and Data CD (or DVD)

which of the three should i choose?
the speeds to burn it at are...

1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x, 20x, 24x and Maximum Possible
 
you will need to burn the music disc in music MIDI format that is the standard misic disc.. you will be able to record about 18 songs per disc .
 
i dont think its the burn speed as much as the disk format, alot of car audio before 2000 wont play them. lucky for you santas coming and a new head unit mite be just the thing to hint for!! merry christmas!
