Voice actors you were surprised at voicing certain characters

AND Larry 3000 on Time Squad, and Captain Stickybeard on Codename: Kids Next Door, and Solomon Grundy on JL/JLU... the man has range.
 
You should hear him in Final Fantasy Tactics as Ramza. He has an English accent and sounds nothing like him, either. :eek: Don't get me started on his Vamp (Metal Gear Solid).

Crispin Freeman as Electro. Crispin Freeman in outside an anime project. It's mind blowing. :eek: Oh, and his role as Tabool in Now & Then, Here & THere was different from his usual roles. Barely sounds like him, too.

Also, Daran Norris as Vincent in Cowboy Bebop The Movie also surprised me, as well.
 
Speaking of Time Squad, I was quite surprised that Rob Paulsen, well known for playing nasally characters, played the tough, manly Buck Tudrussell on said show.
 
Not sure if it fits here but apparently the announcer from Bill Nye does the voice of the announcer in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
 
Jeff Bennett - Currently what surprises me is his roles in Stroker & Hoop and the Boondocks where (like Tara ala Drawn Together) I heard him curse for the first time a few years back. Not only that, in the Boondocks, he got away with saying the N-Word. Although when I was little, this guy use to wow from voice to voice, for a while I couldn't pin him down. Brooklyn, Bravo, Lord Bravery, Huntsman, Cave Guy, Dexter's Dad this guy is awesome.

Dee Baker - This guy did Olmec, Numbah 4, Cow & Chicken's Dad and Viewtiful Joe? (in the games only), very impressive.

Rob Paulsen - Mostly I can hear him in his voices, but every so often he'll stun ya with Yakko, Pinky, Tudrussell or Throttle (Biker Mice), the latter two are very impressive.

Scott McNeil - So good, I didn't know he was Bonesteel.

Matt Hill - Like Paulsen, I can spot his voice usually, but Ed from EEnE came out of now...where.

Gray Delise - The female Jeff Bennett, once you hear all her voices you can spot her, but she has a ton. You wouldn't be able to tell me that Azula, Mandy, Vicky, Major Doctor Ghastly, Lor from the Weekenders and the current Daphne of Scooby Doo voice and her Scottish cousin were the same person right off the bat.

Tom Kenny - Mainly for his Heffer voice, one of a kind.

Mr. Lawrence - How he goes from Filbert, Edward from Camp Lazlo and Plankton is pretty awesome, and he's an animator too.

Steve Blum - When he isn't doing every anime in hollywood, he takes time to do a remarkable Green Goblin and Jamie (MegasXLR) a laid back slacker of which he pulls off surprisingly well.

Cree Summer - Cree Lincoln is and will always be one of her best voices.

John C. McGinley - Dr. Cox as the Atom and the White Shadow? I'm still in shock.

Jaleel White - Replace Dr. Cox with Urkel and Atom and White Shadow Sonic the Hedgehog.

I keep expecting Sausuke Uchiha's voice when I see Yuri Lowenthal's name in the credits, instead he makes me wonder, does he really voice Sho Yamato (Idaten Jump), Superman of LoSH, and a 15 year old Ben 10?

Corey Burton - Over the years, this guy keeps coming up with new voices and except for his Captain Hook voice (notably from Kingdom Hearts) he really doesn't seem to reuse many of his voices he has too much. From Dale (Rescue Rangers KHII) to Megatron (TF:Animated) to Brainiac (Superman, JLU) this guy always shocks me as I always think it's someone new. IMHO, Corey Burton is a legend.
 
Oh yeah him as well. Just that Scott McNeil isn't nearly as well known outside of animation circles.

Anyone else surprised that Earth Kitt does some voice acting? I never knew that until I read her profile on Wikipedia and then checked the credits of the Emperors New School. She's got a great voice for her characters though.
 
I was surprised to hear Dee Bradley Baker voicing (or grunting) most of the creatures on Avatar.

I'm so used to that job being Frank Welker's and I thought he had come up with a new animal sound. It turned out that it was Dee Baker. Never would have thought that Klaus the fish is also Appa the flying Bison.
 
Ditto with him doing Skeleton King on Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go.

I was suprised (actually, more like shocked) to hear Tara Strong and Cree Summer on Drawn Together. I mean, they're associated with family-appropriate shows. Family-appropriate, Drawn Together ain't.
 
When I first heard of this guy, I never thought he did the Prince of Persia in the first and third game. Best work he's ever done.

Bill Farmer's range surprised me. From Goofy to Sam to one character in Tales of Symphonia. I was also surprised that Nick Jameson, the one who played as Emperor Palpetine in Clone Wars, once did Max in Sam & Max. The mind boggles!

Also...Eric Stuart...as Totodile (Pokemon)?
 
Scott Menville: I always associated with innocent little boy characters (Danny on My Little Pony & Friends) or nerdy characters (Andy on Mission Hill). Never once expected him to land an action hero (Robin on Teen Titans) and actually pull it off as well as he did.
 
Well here's a couple more suprises...

In Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, you had Judge Mills Laine as a Judge in the episode, Lone Wolf, And then there's Harvey Korman doing Prime Minister Gularis in Panic on Bathyos.

Then we go back to Kim Possible: Rufus Vs Commodore Puddles and this time we got a Real Marine as a General..I'm refering to R. Lee Emery (of Full Metal Jacket movie fame) doing General Simms.



And you missed another one for Jess Harnell.. Jerry From Totally Spies! (Seasons 1-3). He was replaced in Seasons 4 and 5.
