Voice actors you were surprised at voicing certain characters

Not really a cartoon, but I was suprised to see Keith David Voice the Arbiter in Halo 2 and 3. I think it was the voice filter effect that threw me off for him since I didn't know it was him until I read the booklet credits. His voice sounded different from the other roles.

Oh yeah the first time i learned that was done by the same guy who did Spike I was shocked. Now no voice he does shocks me.

Also I was shocked when I learned that James Woods re praised the role of Hades for every single appearance the character did on countless different appearances (The Herculies TV show, House of Mouse, Kingdom Hearts)

Hey I heard grey "delesile" cuse on harvey birdman before but her saying
"I going downtown for a cream soda..if you get my meaning" was unsettling

To be fair his Shredder voice while great would not have fit with the tone and over all feel of the 2003 turtles. Still they should have got him to do Baxter Stockman or some other role instead of turning him away all together.

Howard, Don Messick was in GVUMBY? That's interesting (I THINK Herb Vigran is in that 1956 "Magic Wand" one, as "Red",m and later as Prickle.) PS I didn't know Mark Evanier was on this board..

BTW you and I can think of some of Robert McKimson's Warners ones:

Pat Patrick (radio's Ersel Twing of "Edger Berger") as the crow in "Corn Plastered"

Sheldon leonard as "Dodsworth the Cat' (WB; Kiddin' the Kitten, Peck of trouble) and as a Banty Rooster (a Foghorn Leghorn, "Sock a DOodle Doo').Spekaing of Sheldon, his Linus the Lionhearted Mel Blanc-like costar was none other than his TV partner CARL REINER!!!!!!

That's Vermin Vunderbar. Arte's no stranger to toons, though. I'd have to say that was his first voice job in some 25 years (after doing Misterjaw and Houndcats for DFE in the 70's).

As far as I know, he only ever voiced one character for Disney - Gideon the Cat from Pinocchio. And the voice track he recorded for the character was nixed in favor of a solitary hiccup after Disney decided the character should be mute.

Bell's also done Smurfs (Handy, Johan), Snorks (Allstar), Rugrats, Plastic Man, and a zillion others we all know. BTW, he was Luthor in the '88 Superman series.
