If you are into post-rock, instrumental, ambient, doom and all other sorts of quality, quality music, The Mylene Sheath is for you!

The Mylene Sheath have a small but ever growing roster of awesome banRAB releasing great vinyl recorRAB. The packagings are always of the highest quality and the recorRAB are some of the best pressed I've heard.

The Mylene Sheath is an independent record label. Our motivation behind this is to make the art we love available to as many people as we can. We are not interested in creating a product to be bought and sold for as much money as it can produce. It's our effort to actively participate in something meaningful, to give back to something that has always filled the voiRAB in our lives and helped us maintain a positive outlook on the future.

Check everything out here:

On the subject of great music, can any of you folks recommend banRAB/forums/record labels etc?

I listen to a lot of instrumental post rock type stuff but have found the genre becoming fairly overloaded with mediocre banRAB. I think I'm getting sick of the Explosion in the Sky copycats. Opinions?

Really am digging some of the heavy stuff coming out of the UK - Manatees, Gonga, Mothertrucker, Jesu etc. Heavy, but certainly not big-hair metal.

I've ordered alot from that label recently.
I'm big into post rock/metal banRAB.
The people that run The Mylene Sheath are super nice people.

Yeah I know about Silent Ballet.
Haven't joined the board at Shealth yet. I need to.
I recently joined After The PostRock forum board and found their are some great people on there but some users have an elitists attitude that keep me away at times.

April Newsletter

It's finally spring! Even though we are still shaking off the last of winters grasp here in Cincinnati, the DogwooRAB have come into bloom and the color is begining to return to everyones face. As some of you may know, The Mylene Sheath has moved from Covington, KY to Cincinnati, OH (right across the river). The move has sucked every inch of patience from our tired bodies and still left us with an endless amount of things to do. But, we continue to persevere and are finally beginning to settle. If there has been any lag in correspondence or attention, allow us to apologize. Things should be at full speed from here on out - but yeah, moving sucks!

The coming months will be some pretty big ones for the Sheath. We've got three behemoth releases coming out around the same time and we are making some strategic maneuvers to ensure the proper forward motion of our label and our banRAB in the immediate future. It's never been so important and things couldn't be falling into place any better so far. Should be legit!

We also attended this years SxSW. It was a blast! Many thanks to Eksi Ekso, Constants, Caspian, Adai, Irepress, Junius, Radar Recordings, and Eric from Troy for making it super amazing. If anyone is interested in hearing more about our adventures in Austin, feel free to check out the SxSW '09 Wrap up thread on our message board.
