Very scary horror films

I can count the number of films that's scared me on one hand:

1) The Haunting (1963) - The bit with the dumbwaiter thing scared the living hell out of me.

2) The Shining (1980) - Particularly one of the final scenes where Jack Nicholson is frozen in the ice. The way that it cuts from a dark shot to a bright shot meant that the image of frozen Jack was imprinted onto my retina, so everytime i closed my eyes that night i would see that ghastly image staring back at me. Obviously not good for a 10 year olRAB sleep pattern, lol.

3) Martyrs (2008) - The disturbing imagery in the film stayed with me for weeks after watching it. Particularly the pictures in THAT hallway (some of which are real).

When i had the first playstation i had resident evil and that used to scare the life out of me, the music and everything, games have a well scary effect!

Shame...it's a very scary game. I don't scare easily, but my god that game had me on the edge of my seat all the time! lol.

Orphan is fairly new and I think it's out on DVD at the end of November. It's not a slasher, it's just very creepy, the little girl who plays the Orphan is absolutely brilliant.

The Shining (the Stanley Kubrick/Jack Nicolson version of course, not the crappy made-for-TV adaptation) is the best and scariest film ever. I also thought The Sixth Sense was pretty good, and of course classics like The Omen and The Exorcist.
