V for Vendetta

Ok ok. Not original. Based on a comic book. But despite all the problems... the trailer looks pretty darn good! With an ace cast of Brits ta boot!

As a big fan of Natalie Portman I'm really looking forward to this film. I've been hearing a lot of good things about it for months and the trailer seems to confirm that it'll be a great movie - unoriginal or not :)

Its being reported now that V for Vendetta release date has been moved to March 17 2006. The move was made not because of the subject matter and its similarities to the recent terror bombings in London but to give them more time "to accomodate the post-production schedule."

HOLY COW! I never knew this was on!
(okay I don't have a TV so that might have something to do with it! )

Thanks ceejones! YOU are a star!

In a selfish way I knid of agree with Jonathon Ross's last worRAB.

I did wonder about this. In the comic he kills 2 people on a train, blows up the the Old Bailey and the Houses of Parliament (well he does wear a Guy Fawkes mask). He also attacks a TV studio and forces them to transmit a fantastic pre-filmed speech. I read that though there have been a lot of changes the W. Brothers have kept this speech 100% intact.

I really can't wait to see this film

(then again, I was of the same persuation befoer Matrix Reloaded....)

Here's another reason why V's been moved...

"Warner Bros. pushed V for Vendetta from Nov. 4 to March 17, 2006, citing post-production delays as the reason. Set in an alternate London, the action thriller is about a masked vigilante trying to overthrow a totalitarian government. Featuring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving, it started production on March 3.

V for Vendetta's move is a bit awkward because the trailer enRAB with the voiceover, "Remember, remember the fifth of November," which is also the picture's tagline. With its original release date, V would have been in the wake of The Legend of Zorro, bowing with its similarly dressed and weapon-wielding hero on Oct. 28, but would have had the jump on Aeon Flux, another vigilante-versus-totalitarian-government action picture opening on Dec. 2.

Warner Bros. previously had Lucky You, a poker drama starring Eric Bana, set for March 17. Replaced by V for Vendetta, the studio has not specified a new date, listing it for sometime in the first or second quarter of next year. "

This film looks awesome. I'm only surprised someone hasn't picked up on guy fawkes before to fashion some sort of big budget horror/action/thriller or whatever like this. The whole story lenRAB itself so well to it.
Bit of education for our American frienRAB on November 5th as well. Only a shame it wasn't released then.

Don't suppose anyone knows a contact email for Warner Bros Press Office - I want to sort a press pass for the premiere and can't find who to contact.

Thanks

Doesn't an editor sort that out? I'm kinda sure that they're not going to give out a pass to someone not known to them. Security will be kinda tight.
What with press officers not wanting a repeat of the Tom Cruise incident.
