use car audio for the home?

I know that it is possible to use car audio inside the home, I've looked online but not sure exactly what I would need and how it all hooks up to each other. If anyone knows anything about doing this I'd like to know thanks. I would like to use a receiver and play music, radio, tv, computer, mp3 and movies. thanks
