I think as long as you have a data plan you should be fine. They just don't want you to end up with a surprisingly large bill because you don't have a data plan.

Chances are if your password is correct that is...that you are getting logged in to AIM from some other client...hence you are getting disconncted.

Update on Mobjab.Mobi Server:

We are shifting our server to a new data center. They would be 4-5 hours of downtime to resolve this. In this 4-5 hours you wont be able to connect to mobjab.mobi server.
 
Well i've been using it with tzones since yesterday. What happens is when I add someone, it asks me to assign a nickname for them and thats it. I don't see an option to subscribe to thier presence or anything like that. Once they are added it always shows them as offline even while I am talking to them.

Whats wierd is today it showed a few people online. What was confusing me was the whole subscribe thing because on my N81 I don't have that option. Is there something else I need to do to have them show up as being online or once they are added it should show?
 
Hi

when you first logged in you would have got some kind of message to add the the contacts/buddies. If you add them that authorises their presence. The presence is not on the handset per se.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem regarding appearing of my yahoo contacts, below are my steps:
1: Registered at mobjab.com with the username aleemashraf1
2: Logged into the Web Client and authorized all the yahoo contacts (Yahoo is the only IM service I use)
3: Defined a new access point for IM Client from the Configurations.
4: Logged into my 5130 Express Music's default IM Client.
5: My contact list is still emplty, 0 online and 0 Offline
6: Logged into the web client to check again
7: Once again I had to authorize each and every contact with the tedious process.
8: Logged into the phone again and still the contact list is empty.
And I repeated the above mentioned process again and again don't know why is it asking to authorize every time I log into the web client, and due to this exact same reason (I think) I am unable to see my contact list.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Edit: forgot to mention, my contact list has only around 30 contacts, so the lack of phone resources shouldn't be the issuer here.

Question 1: Are custom messages planned? ETA?

"Connected to IM on a Mobile Phone." message comes form the IMPS client. Its not a status messsage. Like if you would be connected from a desktop client it will show you connected via some desktop client kind of message.

Question 2: ETA until Gtalk?

a weeks time maximum. got it working. need to fine tune it.

Thanks. Great service, so far, I only really experience issues in areas where my signal quality is poor and many EDGE services randomly fail in general. I wish EDGE would run on one or two unstable bars, alas, it does not do this very well.

Yes. If signal strength is low then data connectivty is an issue.

Yes. the My Account/ User Management is not stable and there are issues and we are working on that.

Account edition is happneing but its not showing succesfully on the website page.

We have seen this problem with ICQ. We will check if we can fix this up but currently the renaming of nicknames on ICQ doesnt work.
