Only one little problem more. When I send a message with a non ASCII character, the gmail buddy receive the verbatim html entities.

For example, from my handset I send the spanish words:

"cami?n" the gmail buddy receives ---> "Camión"
"c?rcel" the gmail buddy receives ---> "Cárcel"
"ma?ana" the gmail buddy receives ---> "mañana"

mobjab.mobi supports MSN/Yahoo/ICQ/AIM but it only supports IMPS version 1.1 and 1.2 capable handsets.

If Sony Ericsson W760i has 1.3 IMPS version then you wont be able to connect to mobjab.mobi and hence you wont get MSN connectivity.

1.3 IMPS version handsets need to connect to mobjab.net domain which currently supports Gtalk/XMPP only.

We do have plans to add MSN/Yahoo/ICQ/AIM to mobjab.net domain in future which would eventually support IMPS versions 1.1 to 1.3 and offer all External IM connectivity.

There will be a downtime of 12-18 hours on mobjab.net IMPS server as we would be upgrading that server.

Mobjab.mobi IMPS Server would function regularly.

We would udpate after the mobjab.net server has been upgraded.

I registered via the web client again, and this time when I logged into MobJab on my phone I got new email notifications from the xmpp gateway, but on my contact list it still shows "default: 0/0"

The first message is form MSN Servers on the lines of upgrade to new windows live messenger which supports yahoo. That message you would get even when you login to desktop msn client.

This means u are able to succesffully login to your msn account from the handset

Well I'm trying to connect to Yahoo, MSN, and AIM if that's what you meants. Sorry, I'm a little confused with using Yahoo as my 'external IM registration'.
 
Dont mean to go off topic here but on the E71 after i performed the firmware upgrade, my IM application is gone...does anyone else have this happen to them?
 
I am unable to log in from my mobile, I receive the following login messages "connecting", "loading im contacts" then "maximum number of conversations active" and the the phone returns to the login screen

OK, I have no idea if it's an IMPS client or not. Just the fact that it *was* pointed to the t-mobile wireless village servers was enough for me to guess that it is, but guessing is not being sure.

I've tried everything as a user name for the client, and I always get that it can't connect to the server. I can go to mobjab.com in the browser, but not mobjab.mobi.

There is no Username: or Password: fields on the built-in chat program, just "Enter full email address" to which I enter "[email protected]" which doesn't work, or "[email protected]" which also doesn't work.

Sad thing is that T-Mobile crippled J2ME so that only T-Mobile apps can access the internet, otherwise I'd just download the MobJab J2ME client.

This is more sepcific to the case where the operator was timing out the gprs/data connectivty. Assume a IMPS client is logged in and after some time the operator times out his gprs/data connectivty. Now as the IMPS client has not logged out from our server (as he was disconnected by his mobile operator) that imps client would show active on our side. we disconnect this kind of inactive clients where they dont query/poll the severs.

Yes. They need to have 2 entries.

also, if i have contacts who use aim, i'm able to login to my aim account using my gmail account. is there a way i can get their messages via the mobjab.in account or do i need to setup a separate mobjab.mobi account

AIM contacts wont work via mobjab.in. For AIM you need to use seperate mobjab.mobi account

This is strange. Do one thing. Deregister your yahoo details via the chat client and register your yahoo account again.
