Unpopular Opinions: Not everyone thinks "Citizen Kane" is the best movie ever!

I loved the movie but didn't get the big deal about Heath Ledger's performance. He was good, but I didn't think he was as awesome as people kept saying. :/

Heres some more..

UO # 14: I think Tim Burton is overrated

Heres a big one..

UO #15: Jar Jar didn't ruin Star Wars..Jar Jar is FAR from the worst thing about Episode 1.

UO # 16: I didnt like Moulin Rouge OR Chicago

UO # 17: Denzel certainly deserves an oscar, but not for Training Day.

I will have to look for that. Thanks for the suggestion.

But finding movies like that in a video store is next to impossible, you usually have to special order them.

Well I thought Juno was funny and clever but I though that - especially with the subject matter - Lars and the Real Girl was the better-written movie. But I guess people got into the whole hype about Juno which is why they won instead of Lars and the Real Girl? I don't know. It's all academic now anyway. I'm just glad I watched both.

Really? What are some examples of other good stuff that year? I can't remember offhand!

Haven't seen either but I remember watching the Oscars when they were presenting Best Picture and in the moments before they announced the winner I just had a feeling Crash would win it, and then it did.

Reign over me was Adam Sandlers best acting
High School musical is the worst disney movie ever created
Pochahuntas the movie is boring
angeline jolie has been in terrible movies besides Hackers

and i ddeifnalty agree with the joseph gordon levitt and Zooey Deschanelle being underrated

Really? All I ever hear is praise for the spoof movies and crap about the others, especially 300  ah well, it's nice to know I'm not alone :D

:yay: More people who like Alexander!! If you like novels, there's an Alexander trilogy by Valerio Massimo Manfredi that the movie is based on and they're absolutely brilliant!!

Like it's been said before, this thread is about sharing your opinion.

I'm a fan of Angelina (more for her refugee work than her acting)...but I also completely understand why people don't like her.

I hate every single film that Clint Eastwood has acted in, directed, produced, composed, etc.

I think Sandra Oh is overrated ever since Sideways where she was talked up :)

Oh, and Catherine Keener is not a good actress.

I love the different opinions!

Have to agree here. I never found the appeal of Juno, and seeing Page nominated for an Oscar for her role in that movie was a bit of a WTF moment to me. From what I've seen of her interviews, she's just like Juno; her acting in the movie seemed less of adopting a role and more of simply extending herself onto the big screen.

You're entitled to your opinion! That's the point of this thread.

Of course people are going to disagree. I myself am a fan of Angelina, but she is a bit eccentric and is not for everyone.

Littlemiss: You sound just like my sister. She can't stand the Harry Potter franchise at all (books and movies). She is also heavily anti fantasy stories---are you the same way? Or is it strictly HP?

Whoa, some big lists above.

Of course there are going to be disagreements on certain opinions, but isn't that what this thread is for? :)

I do have to say I concur that Tim Burton is a fantastic Director. I think his type of direction is an acquired taste though as it can be out there. So I can understand people not liking his direction/movies. But Johnny Depp...hello! Finest man to ever walk this planet!

I've never seen Citizen Kane...have no idea what it's about...I seriously thought it was about a cane...lol but based on your comments Gwen, I think for it's time it was probably a revolutionary change for the movie industry in regards to direction etc.

I love to see people's opinions on things, I hope that it's okay that I'm going on about these things, I figured there should be some discussion on things.

I didn't think Slumdog deserved the Oscar....in fact I don't even know if I would put it in my top 5 movies last year.

Here are some of my unpopular opinions..well , I've been told they are anyways.

UO #1 : All the Spiderman movies are crap. ALL of them. Furthermore, they really made me dislike Kirsten Dunst, and, to a lesser extent, Toby.

UO #2-6: Gladiator sucks. They gave it an Oscar, but I dont understand why. Furthermore, A Beautiful Mind was terrible. Other terrible Oscar winners that I think are also highly overrated include, but are not limited to:The Departed, The English Patient, and American Beauty. Oh, and I forgot Crash. But I dont think thats an UO.

UO # 7: Helen Mirren's performance in The Queen was not absolutely amazing.
UO # 8: Keanu Reeves isn't as bad an actor as everyone says
UO #9: I can't stand most of Clint Eastwood's directed movies
UO # 10: I find Pauly Shore movies enjoyable
UO # 11: Some movies I can't stand that others seem to love: The Shining, Napoleon Dynamite, Lost in Translation, Sideways
UO # 12: An extension of # 11, but I have to say I hate the Christmas classic, Miracle on 34th Street
UO #13: I dont really love any of Judd Apatow's films.
UO # 13: I liked The Village. And actually, i think Shymalan's worst movie, despite how so many people love it, is the Sixth Sense.

I totally agree with this  i think Katherine Heigl is really overrated, she's ok, but is not as amazing as everyone seems to think, and honestly i'm sick of the kind of movies she has been in, they're so cliched, and i also think that she didn't deserve the Emmy, Sandra Oh should had won it, and on't get me start with Patrick Dempsey, he's so overrated

I think Sandra Oh is an amazing actress and she's really underrated, same goes to Isaiah Washington, his personal life has nothing to do with his acting, even he isn't in the show any more. in my opinion he's still the best actor in Grey's anatomy.
