Unpopular Music Opinions

^ This > metal.

Not bothered if it's 'close minded' I don't want to listen to drum solos. If that's close minded then so be it, don't see how it's close minded to dislike something. But fair enough.

Same, I admire them and all (Well, mostly their drummer) but I can't see myself ever listening to them on my ipod, although they are on there. I cant get past how most of their songs have those really soft, slow parts. (Hopefully that makes sense....)

Not saying soft slow songs are bad, I just don't like the way they do it.

More opinions:
-Neil Purt isn't the best drummer.
Daniel Johhnston really isn't that sweet.
NOFX is really bad.

That is not true at all, do have their ONE & ONLY album that changed the face of rock music?

If you knew what inspired John to write this song you'd get it.

Hendrix went overboard, that's actually the greatest part of his appeal, if he was a reserved guitarist, he wouldn't have been nowhere near as interesting.

Before Hendrix all guitarists were reserved, he was the guy who didn't give a f*ck about being sloppy and noisy and over the top. And what's wrong with that? It's rock n roll.

What's with all of these people who think rock n roll should be this ridiculously strict institution?

Well, I'm new to this forum so excuse me if some of these opinions aren't quite as unpopular on this forum as I'd hoped :D

- R.E.M. is better than The Smiths
- Tom Waits is better than Bob Dylan
- Radiohead is overrated
- Big Star is the best band of the 70s
- The Velvet Underground isn't overrated
- Is This It was the best record of the noughties

Oh, this reminRAB me...

The Strokes have not released a bad album.

AND

The vocalists for both The Hives and Modest Mouse are awesome because of their distinct voices...

And they're probably not prog fans either.

If anything, among the actual prog community I'd say Rush are a bit underrated, some of the really snobby prog fans (of which there is plenty of) pretty much treat any prog band that appeals to a more mainstream audience with great resentment.
