Unpopular Music Opinions

Here's one...

Smash Mouth actually have some fantastically well-written and produced songs.

"Stoned"
"Satellite"
"When The Morning Comes"
"Waste"
"Padrino"
"Let's Rock"
"The Fonz"

All really melodically pleasing and well produced. Especially "Stoned" and "Satellite". I really think those songs just own.

I know I'll get a load of crap for this one hehehe

Friend Opportunity is great, I prefer the older stuff though.

Not saying they're the "future of music" (whatever that entails), but I'd take the worst Deerhoof over anything I've heard by Porcupine Tree anytime.

Me not liking them and thinking they're shit, is there much difference?

I just never saw the appeal with them.

Although I must confess Comfortably Nurab is a beautiful song.

Yeah I've heard it, good job if it influenced so many, which I'm sure it did.. I just never saw why.

Its fine. Its not like I acknowledged Limp Bizkit as having done anything credible. Being better than RATM isn't credible, it just means that somehow you made it past being the worst thing in all of music. Congratulations to everyone in mediocre banRAB, you're all better than RATM!

Ugh
Just cause I like ****ing Britpop doesn't mean I hate Grunge for that reason.
Britpop isn't even a ****ing genre!
It literally means music from Britain in the 90's. Which IMO is better than Grunge.

Im an Oasis fan, but no. Oasis made two stellar albums. You cant compare them to a band with a more consistent career spanning such a long time.

Nirvana may be overrated, fair enough.

There was plenty of good music in the Eighties. If you can only think of two artists in ten years that you like then maybe you shouldn't be making statements like that.

Theres not many banRAB that The Arctic Monkeys are better than. The Strokes arent one of them.

You prefer Ringo's solo stuff to Georges? Do your ears work alright?

So you're claiming that Radiohead can be depressing? Fair enough. Not all people who can appreciate "depressing" music are depressed or "slit their wrists".

If your only point about Bob Dylan was that he is great even though he cant sing, then fair enough.

If Led Zeppelin are #3 then who are #5, #4, #2 and #1?

Queen get plenty of recognition. They are an English treasure. I wouldn't fancy many artists to beat them sales-wise with any future posthumous releases. Shame they are shit.

I dont even understand what you were trying to say about indie music.
