Unpopular Music Opinions

I don't know what you want me to say about this one, you think Limp Bizkit is better than RATM (or anyone for that matter), alright well we are in the unpopular opinion thread, I'd just wonder how that will look when someone quotes it back at you when you tell them they have no taste.

And to both of you, I'd ask who is allowed to complain then, the uneducated, under payed masses? Should they devote their non-existent time between three jobs to make social commentary on the world?

Come on now, lets be serious. First of all, Morello there is echoing the very Basics of Marxism when he talks about labor force, and while we can all have our opionions on how effective that form of government might be, its still a well formed thought about the trappings of capitalism.

I'd also like to add that every great revolutionary and thinker came from a class above the bottom, rallying them from above with the script of an educated, well lived person who took the time to acknowledge the sufferings of others. If you think because Morello has money, that he shouldn't complain as much or that he shouldn't be aware of the sufferings of others, I'd say you're heaRAB up your ass to be quite honest.

Politics for some reason is the most polarizing topic I've ever seen. And for an unexplained reason, those uninterested are actively uninterested and try to belittle, downplay or change the subject every time it comes up. I suspect that with music its no different.

Owl City is sh8t, sh7t sh9t. TPS is MUCH better.

I may be biased though because I absolutely love Gibbard as a lyricist.

Ahh, well i did ask, I thought I may have misunderstood. But that point means nothing really I could turn around and say "Black Sabbath is more enjoyable than the majority of Electronica" or "The Clash are more enjoyable than the majority of ska" it's all relative it works with anything, any genre any band.

You mean another heroin addicted rock star in her life... It's probably for the best he did it when she was still so young, can't lose what you never had, right?

I find this quote that was in my head this morning appropriate:

"Nothing is a powerful place to stand. Only from nothing can you create."

So it follows that anything after the initial invention of music is influenced by what came before it, and therefore, less imaginative.

Everyone on 'teh internetz' appears to believe that In Utero is better than Nevermind. They are wrong.

I also think that hiphop with really violent, nihilistic lyrics is great alot of the time.

Im not sure if this opinion is unpopular or not......

Modern progressive metal is diabolically bad, Dream Theater are the biggest bag of pretentious bull**** avaliable today, and Trivium are only a gnats whisker behind.

He'd been dead for a while. Ol' Gene used an unreleased Zappa tape as the basis for one of the songs on the album. So there's that one.

As for the Dylan one... I can hear it. I can't explain it, but it does somehow make sense.

I'm not sure that I am getting everything here. It seems to me that you are saying that a band being on MTV somehow changes its quality. Is there something that I am missing? What is it that makes music good? Is it being able to make it throughout an entire career without ever having been on MTV? Does mainstream make music suck? I guess I'm just missing something.
