Unpopular Music Opinions

I think Jackhammer's assertion is pretty dead on, and because of Pink Floyd's geographic immediacy in the UK, and subsequent influence, it may be something we're not quite as able to perceive as clearly in America. Listen to just about any British alternative band and you can hear ripples of Pipers at the Gates of Dawn's influence. I certainly wish that their early to mid seventies material was at least as influential to music in general as Piper's was to British alt. specifically, but for as popular as it was, and still is, the influence it had on contemporary music in general is minimal compared to Floyd's early material's influence on Uk alternative. I wish It weren't so. I spend altogether too much time looking for another animals, Dark side of the Moon, or Wish you were Here, but sadly, none exist.

They're like Blink 182 if they were good though. I just adore them.

1. I'm gonna agree with this one, never liked Soundgarden much actually on the whole

2. Erm, have you even listened to In Rainbows yet? Pablo is like the deformed birthchild of Nirvana and REM.

3. TAKE THAT BACK.

4. TAKE THAT BACK AGAIN.

5. Adore was good, but not as good as you claim it to be, Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream were a lot better.

Avid music listeners like most on here would, but the vast majority of people can`t see beyond the popular acts anyway, and even if they did they probably wouldn`t enjoy them anyway.

I`m kind of glad about this, as the best kept secrets are usually kept for those in the know.

Ah, yes...the Portishead thing. I actually think neither Beth Gibbons nor Geoff Barrow would be very good without the other. Either one alone wouldn't be much, but together they whack you in the face with musical fusion.

And the funny thing about Radiohead arguments is that they are usually between Radiohead fans disagreeing about just how great Radiohead is...

Yeah but c'mon, at least theres some music related worRAB in math rock, such as "rock", and possibly even "math".

Shoegaze sounRAB like a movie, or some metro sexual fashion style.
